Kevin Parker (Prefers Republican Party)
Elected Experience: First elected in 2008, Kevin developed a reputation as a compassionate listener and effective leader.
Other Professional Experience: Kevin is an small business owner who operates a chain of coffee shops in Spokane and serves as adjunct faculty in the Whitworth and Gonzaga MBA programs.
Education: Kevin graduated from Whitworth University, earned his MBA at George Fox University, and studied leadership at Harvard University.
Community Service: Kevin serves on the boards of Young Life and International Trade Alliance. He was awarded Washington Citizen of the Year in 2014 and Spokane Citizen of the Year in 2013.
Statement: Kevin has visited over 44,000 homes to hear your voice and works with tireless energy to make Spokane a great place to live.
Kevin has proven to be a very successful public servant. His legislative results are far-reaching: prioritized education funding, saved manufacturing jobs, required human traffickers to register as sex offenders, helped the homeless get jobs, moved the North/South freeway forward, and balanced the budget without raising taxes. “I look forward to continuing to work to make our state more responsible by balancing the budget and reforming agencies that waste taxpayer money,” said Parker.

Statement: Education is my passion! I want to ensure that K-12 programs are funded at adequate levels, that college tuitions are affordable, and that the workforce has access to continuing education programs. I believe in protecting and creating jobs, protecting the environment, and maintaining our safety. For example: I believe we can find ways to move products to market, without putting our lives and the environment at risk. I believe that property development can be managed, without creating hardships for our neighbors. And I believe all of us have the right to be safe from criminal or irresponsible firearm use.
