Northrop Grumman, Montgomery off-site development team lead for Colorado Spring development group. July 2010 – February 2011 Software Development Manager - WPF  Hand-picked to build the Montgomery software development branch from ground-up.

Northrop Grumman, contractor for the Air Force Wargaming Institute (AFWI). July 2002 – July 2010 Senior Software Engineer – ASP.NET/WinForms  Considered AFWI’s most valuable of 10 contracting software developers (supporting letter of reference available upon request)  Took on challenging team-lead position on a highly visible and critical real-time distributed event-driven educational model with many requirements and a very aggressive schedule – delivered on time.

 Designed and developed a complex geospatial application for creating and editing scenario terrain data. GUI included multiple level undo/redo and real-time database updates.

 Designed and developed an Interactive Battle Space, a distributed thick-client graphic application with graphic primitive editing, full multi-level undo/redo, DB storage and immediate distributed real-time updating.

 Hand-picked to take on leadership of AFWI’s most important software application, a web-based communications application (ASP.NET) used in support of all wargames. Improved the continuity documentation significantly.  Created a project tracking tool (C#/MS Access) for tracking development progress based upon a developer’s availability and a set of weighted tasks and percent completion.

 Assisted in wargame execution. Received numerous kudos for excellent wargame support.

 Helped develop AFWI’s Software Engineering Process (SEP) Air Force Wargaming Institute. Maxwell AFB Dec 1997 – Jul 2002 AF Officer – Software Engineer  Designed and Developed geospatial visualization software for AFWI--considered to be their most significant software enhancement to Strategic and Operational Wargaming, requested by several external DoD organizations. Heralded by wargame operators as AFWI’s biggest software success story.

 Senior Software Engineer of 15+ developers--provided strategic direction and technical input to all AFWI software development, provided training/mentoring to fellow coders, defined coding standards, evaluated outsourced training providers.

 Improved AFWI’s Joint Exercise Mobility Model’s performance by 2000%, saving up to 500 man-hours per week during AFWI’s largest Wargame.

 Conceptualized and instantiated an “Applied Selective Quality” methodology into AFWI’s software engineering process—decreasing development time.
