With us today, I have a person who I have admired for many years. His name is Mark Victor Hansen. You probably recognize that name. It’s almost a household name today. He’s the author of many books, the biggest of which is his Chicken Soup for the Soul Series, co-authored with Jack Canfield. But there are some ones you may not know about. One which I was sharing with Mark just a few moments ago was “ The Power of Focus” , a tremendous book about the talent, the innate skill we have to tune in and focus on what we really want, but the unconscious isn’t always there with us until you set your intent and really tune in. Another one of Mark’s books is “ The One Minute Millionaire” . In the year 2000, Mark was honored with the prestigious Horatio Alger Award. Each year, this association honors American leaders who personify the virtues and principles inherent in the success stories that are written in the 19 th century. As an Alger award winner, Mark’s extraordinary life achievements stand as a powerful example that the free enterprise system still offers opportunity to all. I love that, Mark. Mark : Isn’t that fun? Paul : I love it. Mark : You ought to know that we give away the most money of any endowment scholarships in America to at-risk kids. When you hear these kids’ stories, and all of us at Whitney Award. Out of 600 winners over 60 years, there are 183 of us alive still, and it’s the most amazing group. We’ve raised 100 million dollars to get all these kids to go to school. Oprah’s a member, Turner’s a member, and a new one we just had Denzell Washington win a few days ago and we had Steve Wynn, the guy from Vegas who builds the best hotels as far as I’m concerned, is a new friend. It’s a really exciting organization and the biggest winners are the kids, the scholars that get $20,000 from us to go school. They got to go to a school where they know the president, and they’ve got to keep a 3.8 gpa and they can’t skip any school. They all end up graduating and do- ing wonders. Every one of them has one of us as a mentor, where we get to be the mentee. I’ve got pictures on my wall here of getting my award in the U.S. Supreme Court from Judge Clarence Thomas. In my class of ten, was Tom Selleck, Mr. Magnum PI. It makes your skin tingle. Paul : Yes, I know that feeling well. To add just a little bit to that intro, because I’m really fascinated with your background, Mark. You know what really impresses me is when people like yourself... I think the old quote goes, “To those who much have been given, much is expected, or required”. In Hawaiian, they have a word called “kuleana”- it’s our kuleana (our responsibility) to give back. We’ve been given great and wonderful gifts. Part of what I had found on the web about you Mark, is that you’re not just a philanthropist and a humanitarian, but you work tirelessly for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, March of Dimes, and Child Help U.S.A. It touches me, Mark, because you don’t have to do that stuff. It’s something that inspires you or touches you in some way. Your Kuleana Maybe that’s the way we’ll start out, and then I’ll continue with some questions that I’m asking as a surrogate on behalf of our subscribers and Awaken Members. If we can touch base on that whole Awakened Imagination Newsletter Gold Edition Issue #2 3 Mark: I think it’s a triangle. I ask audience members to put their hands together and touch their index fingers and their thumbs together and make a triangle. I say, on the left hand side, you’ve got to learn. On the right hand side, you’ve got to earn. Then, on the thumbs, you’ve got to return. Unless you do all three parts of the triangle, it doesn’t work. The reason our economy and social and political system are crumbling right now is because they didn’t understand the return part. I’m doing this from a very spiritual, elevated point of view, looking now at the problem we’ve got. When you’ve got greed running you, you’ll always lose because you can’t ever get enough if you’re into greed. That’s what happened with the collapse on Wall Street and Washington. Too many people were running a greed system and didn’t understand that there’s more than enough for all of us. Every spiritual system says the same thing. Christ, John 10:10 says “I come so you might have life and have life abundantly”. The oldest spiritual literature on the planet 6,000 years ago, said … “out of abundance he or she took abundance and still abundance remained”. There is more than enough, but if you’re personally coming out of lack, which I’m here to attack lack. I think poverty only belongs in a museum. Dr. Eunice taught me that, a Nobel Prize winner. We got a hundred million women out of poverty, and I’m working with them now on a lot of projects because we don’t need any poverty in the world; we need vast prosperity and all seven billion of us deserve to have clean water, clean food, a house over our head like Habitat says.

  • The First Aha: Everyone Manifests
The First Aha: Everyone Manifests Everyone thinks that the principal thing to the tree is the fruit, but in point of fact the principal thing to it is the seed. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844-1900) Look around you. Everything you see, began as a thought in someone’s mind. The chair you sit on. The table you work at. The car you drive. The house you live in. The clothes you wear. The television you watch. First, a thought. Then, a thing—brought forth out of nothing. Voilà! There it is. Everything begins as a thought. The verb for turning thoughts into things is—“to manifest.” It comes from the Middle English word Manifestus meaning visible and the Latin word manus meaning hand. When you manifest something you metaphorically reach your hand through the invisible curtain separating the tangible world from the world of imagination and pull your desired object into existence. First, you think it and then, you manifest it. You “materialize” it. You cause it to appear. Everyone manifests. Some people manifest abundance. Others manifest lack. If you don’t have what you want, examine your thoughts. Ask yourself, “How did I manifest this?” You are the fruit of the thoughts you have planted and nourished. If you want a better harvest, you must plant better thoughts. Just like an apple seed will not produce a peach tree, poor thoughts will not produce prosperity. As surely as the acorn becomes the oak tree, the images in your mind become your reality. Thoughts are things. Every thought has a consequence.

  • Toilet-Training Triplets… and Other Adventures with Twins and Multiples Chicken Soup for the Soul Offers Multiple Lessons and Laughs
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Rusty Shelton (512) 785-4469 Toilet-training triplets… and other adventures with twins and multiples Chicken Soup for the Soul offers multiple lessons and laughs COS COB, Conn. – These days, it’s hard not to see twins or multiple children smiling back at us from every television screen and glossy magazine. From Jon & Kate Plus 8 to Angelina Jolie, twins and multiples are bounding into our lives from all corners. In fact, according to The Nemours Foundation, between 1980 and 2004 the number of twin births increased by 70 percent. And during the same time span, the number of births involving three or more babies quadrupled. More people than ever are fascinated by multiples and what it takes to raise them. In Chicken Soup for the Soul: Twins and More (Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC, 978-1-935-09632-0, March 10, 2009, Paperback, $14.95), Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Susan M. Heim offer a collection of heartwarming and hilarious stories from parents of “twins and more,” and from multiples themselves, filled with time-tested advice from those who have “been there, done that.” Twins mom and CNN journalist Soledad O’Brien lends her hearty recommendation to this book as well, saying “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Twins and More is funny and moving, insightful and inspiring. Life with twins is a chaotic, wonderful, joyful experience – and this book captures it perfectly.” “Twins and multiples are seen as a blessing today, despite their often well-deserved reputation for ‘double trouble’ and ‘multiple mischief,’” says Heim, who is also the author of It's Twins! Parent-to-Parent Advice from Infancy Through Adolescence (Hampton Roads Publishing, 2007).

  • The Original Welcome to the Book
The Original Welcome to the Book Time to Get Started is a compilation of thoughts from Mark Fritz’s Thought Project: https://www.markfritzonline.com/thoughts-project/ The subtitle of the book says it all aBout the goal of this book: THE GOAL TO PROVIDE THOUGHTS TO INSPIRE ACTION IN YOU The thoughts are grouped together (five per page) By a theme, along with a related quote and a take-away to inspire you to think and act. This is great book to use for your daily inspiration, as you can use the taBle of contents to get some inspiration on a specific theme that is on your mind that particular day. ONE HINT As you read through each theme, move forward to the next page only after you have asked yourself the following question: How do I apply this to my own life? This is the first most important action you can take while reading this Book. Asking yourself “How do I apply this to my own life?” moves you to thinking aBout the possiBle Action you can take. Very often we read Books and say to ourselves “That’s interesting”. However, if we keep our thoughts at only a “That’s interesting” level, we never get to thinking aBout the Action we can take from what we learned. When we move from “That’s interesting” to “How do I apply this”, we start to make changes in our lives. Why? When we think about how we can apply the learning, we are thinking in an “Action Mode” and Basically wiring our Brain for action.
