Red Ribbon Week 2015 is coming next week! The Red Ribbon Campaign was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered a Drug Enforcement Agency agent in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA.

Be sure to wear your Red Ribbons throughout this week. Red Ribbon Rovers will be awarding prizes randomly throughout the week to students who are wearing their ribbons and who dress up for the theme days. Also, be sure to wear Crazy Clothes – like crazy socks or clashing outfits - on Monday, Find a twin and match on Tuesday for Twin Day, get all your Red out for Wednesday’s Wear Red day, Show how super being Drug free is for Thursday’s Superhero Day and finally on Friday wear your favorite Poquessing on team jersey or shirt for Spirit Day! Let's have a great Red Ribbon Week at Poquessing!

Teen Cuisine is an exciting six week program for teens ages 13-18 where students learn how to eat healthfully, be active in different ways and build personal skills to live well. This program is being held right here at Poquessing starting on October 27th from 3:15 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Please see Mrs. Dempsey if you are interested.

Due to the large number of students joining the Poquessing Computer Science Club, the meetings will be split by grade levels as follows:

8th & 7th grade club members will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month 6th & 5th grade club members will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month

This is needed so that students will not have to be excluded due to the large amount of students joining and it will also help in better adapting learning to each level. If you are one of the families with students in more than one grade level and they need to attend together, please let the club Advisor, Mrs. Moraes ([email protected]), know and she will accommodate.
