1. Topic: Wind Tunnel

2. Aim: To investigate the lift on an aerofoil in a wind tunnel with different angles of attack in different speeds.

3. Apparatus.

i. Wind tunnel. Extension cord. ii. Electronic Scale. Battery. Stop watches iii. Aerofoil.

4. Method i. Reset the electronic scale. Then weight the aerofoil at rest. ii. Set the angle of attack Ө to 0o for the aerofoil. iii. Turn on the power of the wind tunnel and start the stop watches. iv. Wait for ten seconds (such that the fan of the wind tunnel is at high speed), take the reading the reading from the electronic scale. This is the weight of the aerofoil at high speed flight. v. Reset the stop watches. vi. Turn off the power of the wind tunnel and start the stop watches. Wait 10 seconds (such that the fan of the wind tunnel is at low speed) and then take the reading from the electronic scale. This is the weight of the aerofoil at low speed flight. vii. Set the angle of attack to 5o, 10o, 15o and 20o of the aerofoil. Then repeat i to v.

5. Results / Data Sketch graphs for both the tables of lift vs angle of attack
