EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS 2016-2017 NOMINATION FORM

In a continuous effort to encourage excellence in teaching, the University System has established a series of teaching awards. As faculty, students, and alumni, you are instrumental in the process of fostering excellent teaching at the school through your nominations. We ask that you take a moment to read the following criteria. You are invited to nominate any full-time permanent faculty member on campus (a maximum of two - one nomination per form) and write a letter supporting your nomination(s).

NOMINATIONS ARE DUE IN THE TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTER BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2016. Email your nomination form to [email protected]. You may also mail or deliver it to: Teaching and Learning Center UNC School of the Arts, 1533 S. Main St. Winston-Salem, NC 27127

CRITERIA Faculty who are recognized for excellence in teaching shall demonstrate: . Concern for students . Enthusiasm for the subject they teach . The ability to motivate and fairly critique student effort . The ability to fairly critique student effort and communicate that critique to the student . Organization of knowledge for student use . Command of the subject being taught . Up-to-date scholarship/creative work and awareness of recent developments in their field . The ability to integrate professional development into their teaching . Commitment to the UNCSA community and the greater community
