PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS

Officials of the Pacific Southwest Cal Ripken Baseball and the host have been extremely busy and conscientious in their plans to ensure your stay in Hawaii will pleasant and memorable. We ask for your complete cooperation in adhering to the following rules to avoid any conflicts.

ASSISTANCE

We want all participants to thoroughly enjoy themselves during the tournament. If you need any information or assistance, contact your team manager immediately. The manager, in turn, may request assistance from tournament headquarters or may contact the team host for needed information.

CONDUCT

You must always be on your best behavior, both on and off the field. Any misconduct could cause you to be disqualified from participating in the tournament, and could also adversely affect the rest of the team. “Ragging” of other players or the umpires will not be tolerated.

SCHEDULE

Follow your team schedule at all times. Be at practice sessions, Regional tournament games, and special events ON TIME, and dress appropriately for each function. You may not leave any event without first receiving approval from the team manager.

APPEARANCE

As representatives of your region, we expect you to dress in a manner reflective of your pride in being chosen. You may dress informally and comfortably, however, you are expected to be in uniforms at games and be uniformly dressed at other events. You are expected to be appropriately attired at all times.

UNIFORMS

No repeat of numbers on a team. Each player will have a different number on his uniform. The official Cal Ripken shoulder emblem will be worn on the left sleeve.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

Contact your team manager or member of the tournament staff. Check with your team manager prior to any swimming activities especially on game days. Notify and obtain approval from your team manager prior to going on activities with your families.

POOL/WHIRLPOOL SPA, VENDING MACHINES, and LAUNDROMAT Conveniently located on the SUNDECK ! Take the elevator to the 4th floor from the Oceanarium Tower and the 5th floor from the Beach Tower.

The Pool hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. No Lifeguard on Duty. Please observe posted rules.

The Laundromat hours are 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. $3.00 Washer and $3.00 Dryer Quarters are needed and change is available at the Front Desk or from the Change Machine next to the Vending Machines.

TELEPHONE From your room telephone, you may make calls within the hotel. When dialing from room to room, please dial the four digit room number. For three digit room numbers, please dial 7 + room number, for example, Room #553 - dial 7553. For outside calls, please use public telephones located in the Main Lobby, or 2nd and 3rd floors of the Oceanarium Tower.

IN ROOM MOVIES Pay per view channels are not available in your room. Please enjoy the 24 free cable channels that are available.

INTERNET Hard-wired internet connection is available in all rooms, however a credit card is required to complete the connection through Time Warner Oceanic Cable. Follow the instructions on the card posted near the cable. Internet access may not be billed as a room charge. Additional computers are available at the Business Center located in the main lobby, for and additional fee.

Complimentary Wi-Fi connection is available at the Starbucks located on the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue. OCEANARIUM TANK Pacific Beach Hotel is home of the fabulous 3-story, 280,000 gallon Oceanarium Tank. Feeding times are:

HOTEL POLICIES

We believe that SAFETY is the key to an enjoyable stay. Please refer to the Security section in the Hotel Information folder for helpful safety and emergency tips.

 For your safety and security, never leave your room door open.  For your safety, do not lean or hang over the lanai rails.  For your safety, use the “buddy” system.  Do not hang items on lanai rails or throw items from the lanai.  Remember to be on time for any departures.

As a courtesy to other guests, we ask that you follow all hotel policies. Security and the Hotel Managers will respond to any complaints, and failure to comply may be cause for eviction.

 Courtesy in all areas is fundamental (e.g., elevator courtesy)  Loud noises, running, and horse playing in guestrooms, hallways, and elevators are not allowed.  By fire code, maximum occupancy of guest rooms is 4, and “gatherings” are not permitted.  All illegal drug activity and/or alcohol consumption is prohibited and is subject to immediate eviction.  Any property damage is the responsibility of the guest and/or guardian.  Congregating, blocking traffic, or sitting on the floor/ground in the lobby, hallways, and walkways of public areas is not permitted.
