I am currently an in-house translator of energy-related and corporate documents. The translations run from extremely technical engineering (ex: general services agreements for the supply of super- cooler components for power plant turbines, safety problems in dam desanders), to public tender offers, hiring and sponsorship contracts, quarterly and annual financial results, SAP accounting, speeches. I coordinate and control translations performed by various translation agencies in order to ensure quality and consistency with Enel terminology, especially when large numbers of suppliers are involved. I also edit work in the preparation of specialized teaching materials for various kinds of courses. interview candidates to assess their language knowledge for hiring, promotions and various kinds of specialized courses.

As an Instructor I have taught in Exxon Mobile, Adaltis, Chimec and Logista in various capacities as well as wrote two in-house books on expressing opinions in meetings for beginning and pre- intermediate levels and on explaining problems for high (Upper-Intermediate and Advanced) levels. Industria Farmaceutica Serono S.p.A2001-2005 , In-house translator and teacher. The Serono group is an international pharmaceutical company based in Geneva, with subsidiaries throughout the world. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, I was responsible for the language training of the staff in the Serono group’s Rome head office, including specialized courses such as financial English, how to make presentations, hold meetings and conference calls in English. I also taught French language courses, helped draft computer program users’ guides in English, French and Italian and also translated contracts, and in-house documents and coached personnel in presentations.

AMERICAN JOINT DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE ROME, 1989-1991 Assistant to the Director for Transmigrants and Ethiopia. Charged with handling various aspects of providing housing , medical and social services for Russian and Iranian refugee populations in Rome and Vienna. I arranged for the transport of some 32,000 refugees from Vienna to Rome and from Rome to the United States, as well as managing schools for them during their stay in Italy. Also responsible for various projects in Ethiopia encompassing resettlement of refugees from famine areas, water well drilling, pilot farms and heath clinics. (for a population of some 11,000 people)
