FOR ACTION A. Approval of Personnel Recommendation - #1 Statement by President Meyer: The Board of Education has reached a difficult decision, but one that is necessary in moving the district forward. A few years ago when we choose a new Superintendent our goals for the district were clear and obtainable; improve student achievement and remain fiscally sound. As we worked towards these goals, we felt we were moving down the correct path. No one is questioning whether Mr. Warsen’s heart is in the right place, he cares about our children. Even with the best intentions, over time, we have found that our goals have blurred and the path has become impassable. We could debate that it was the methods used or recommendations that were followed that has taken us off course. One thing is for certain we are not on the path and not headed in the direction that will achieve our goals. It is the responsibility of the board to put the district back on track. That is why I am now asking for a motion to reassign Mr. Warsen at the discretion of the Interim Superintendent.

It was moved by Mr. Pomorski, seconded by Mr. Skinner, to reassign Mr. Warsen to a new position that will be at the discretion of the Interim Superintendent. Yeas: 6 Nays: 1 [Reidzans] MOTION CARRIED

B. Approval of Personnel Recommendation - #2 Statement by President Meyer: As a Board we thought it best to bring in a known leader. One who has lead out district before with a strong background in dealing with the budget, along with the leadership abilities to bring our community back together so we can work towards our goals as a team. At this time I will entertain a motion to make Mr. Wright the Interim Superintendent of Kelloggsville Public Schools.

It was moved by Mr. Skinner, seconded by Mr. Pomorski, to assign Mr. Wright as Interim Superintendent of Kelloggsville Public Schools. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 MOTION CARRIED

On behalf of the Board, Mr. Meyer shared appreciation to Mr. Warsen for his efforts to achieve the district’s goals and wish him well in his new position
