TITLE: CERTIFIED NURSES AIDE (C.N.A.)

SALARY: $28,080.00/ANNUM LOCATION: ROCKY BOY, MT
STATUS: REGULAR FULL- TIME
OPENING DATE: DECEMBER 27, 2016 CLOSING DATE: JANUARY 10, 2017 PROBATIONARY PERIOD: SIXTY (60) CALENDAR DAYS FROM INITIAL APPOINTMENT
MAJOR DUTIES:
Obtains and documents focused medical history (chief complaint, pertinent symptoms). Measures and documents vital signs. Assists nursing staff and medical providers in patient positioning, preparation for procedures, transportation within the clinic. Assists with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral information, in consultation with nursing staff. Obtains records (including orders from non-facility providers) from offsite facilities. Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials and communication of physician advice and instructions. Sterilizes instruments. Assists with inventory, ordering, and distribution of supplies, including stocking patient care rooms. Administers EKG’s, assists in collection of urine specimens, obtain capillary blood glucose measurements, with documentation. Assists nursing and medical staff with patient correspondence and forms. Documents all patient care/interactions in the patient medical record. Customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, clerical skills, computer skills, appropriate for the position, medical terminology use and understanding. Clinical skills to include EKG, obtaining accurate vitals, capillary blood glucose monitoring ability to recognize and respond to change in patient condition Other duties as assigned (CHR/Optometry/Public Health).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess BLS/CPR certification, current C.N.A. license, and 1 year experience in health care. Skills in charting and recordkeeping, good communication skills, and telephone etiquette. Skills to work effectively with others who have a variety of backgrounds and training. Knowledge of the Rocky Boy Reservation as to its geographies to population groups, health needs, and cultural differences. Possess a valid Montana driver’s license at all times. Maintain and receive HIPAA certification as required by AAAHC/Accreditation requirement.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of and ability to apply professional C.N.A. principles, procedures, and techniques to patients with a wide variety of health problems. Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and program requirements. At least one year of experience in health care.
OTHER SELECTION CRITERIA: Qualified Chippewa Cree members who are honorably discharged veterans will be given preference, DD-214 required. Chippewa Cree tribal preference Will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Anyone who has violated the Chippewa Cree Tribal Ordinance must comply with requirements (show evidence). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES {KSAs}:
1. Ability to update patient registration demographic information. 2. Ability to assist the patient in completing new or updated forms. 3. Skill in interviewing and checking in patients for appointments and/or medical care. 4. Ability to collect third party recipient health cards, obtaining photocopies of the card for billing purposes and explains the programs to patients, routes copies to Business Office and updates into the RPMS system.
