UNIONgallery Fundraiser for Art in Healthcare
We would like to invite you to a one-night-only charity exhibition on Tuesday 23 April 6 - 8pm at UNIONgallery, 45 Broughton Street, Edinburgh.
Trevor Jones, Director of Art in Healthcare, created 60 wild animal sketches in 60 days to raise funds for the charity. These highly collectible pencil drawings are just £60 each with all money raised going to Art in Healthcare.
The drawings are 6 x 8 inches on 240gsm, A4 sized handmade paper. Due to the unavailability of a “Highland Cow” and “Puffins” by Trevor Jones debit machine, we can only accept cash and cheque on the night. Big thanks to UNIONgallery for hosting the event for us.
Please RSVP to [email protected] or tel: 0131 555 7638
We hope to see you there.
New Pastures: Art Collection Management
There have been some fundamental shifts in the services that Art in Healthcare is providing, and we’re very pleased with the opportunities these are bringing to us. As you know, we’ve been working with NHS Lothian helping them to care for their large collection of more than 2,000 artworks and they do indeed have some wonderful pieces, including a series of five large Leon Morrocco paintings and even an 18th century portrait of the 2nd Earl of Hopetoun by Allan Ramsay!
Thanks to the success we’ve had with NHS Lothian, we are now engaging a “Boats and Houses” by Leon Morrocco number of other health boards to present similar art collection management packages. This is a fantastic opportunity, which we hope will ensure NHS Scotland continues to care for and maintain the wonderful works of art found in hospitals across the nation.
“Art from Art” Exhibition
Another area we’ve been developing is our art workshop programme, and we recently opened an exhibition at the Whitespace Gallery to showcase the end of this six month pilot programme.
Over the course of the project, professional artists ran workshops in a wide range of healthcare settings. The artists brought artworks from our prestigious Collection to use as inspiration for participants to create their own artwork. The results were a wonderful selection of paintings, collages and 3D creations, bursting with colour and self-expression. Mixed media collage from Alzheimer’s Scotland workshop
One service manager commented, “It was the most inclusive single activity used since I have worked at the club.” And one of the artists said, “As you can see the art is tremendous…their communication in art is heard loud and clear through the work produced.”
“I never thought I was artistic but today gave me insight into art.” ~ participant from the Wester Hailes Health Agency

We’re exceptionally pleased to have been asked to provide all the art for the new £6.4 Million state-of- the-art Scottish Epilepsy Centre in Govan. We’re also about to lend artwork to the new Drumbrae Care Home opening in Costorphine, as well as the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow and Insignia for the Little White Horse by Alan Davie Murray Royal Hospital in Perth. April is going to be a very busy month! CHSS Forth Rail Bridge Abseil
