CETYS University & San Diego State University Sister Library Agreement
The above libraries formally agree to the following activities as part of the establishment of a Sister Library relationship. This agreement serves to further strengthen the existing bonds between the staff of these two institutions. CETYS University, with campuses in Ensenada, Mexicali and Tijuana, and San Diego State University, with campuses in San Diego and Calexico, vow to work more closely in the coming years and to provide enhanced services to their faculty and students. Both institutions will provide the following services as part of this agreement.
1. Increase the number of no cost interlibrary loans to 25 per year for each institution.
2. Each campus will assist with the translation of one another's library resources with prior agreement on scope and timeline.
3. Newsletters from each institution will be provided on a regular basis to their Sister Library campuses.
4. A mailing list will be established which includes all Sister Library team members to facilitate communication of timely issues and questions that arise between the libraries.
5. Each year there will be reciprocal visits by librarians from both institutions. These visits will be coordinated by the Sister Library teams at each campus and should provide maximum advance notification.
6. Lending privileges will be extended to certified faculty members from the Sister Library institutions with the Center for Latin American Studies acting as the certifying agent at SDSU and the Library Director acting as the certifying agent at CETYS University.
7. Guided tours will be provided for professors, students and librarians of both institutions. These tours will require advance notice with one of the members of the Sister Library team and are dependent upon staffing availability on the part of the hosting institution at the time of the tour.
This agreement will be reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that any needed changes or updates can be incorporated in a timely fashion.
