Homework Chart for the Week of 11-27-17 Practice reading and spelling the most frequently used words: of, that, was, on, with Practice reading the attached High Frequency Words for the story this week: Dr. Seuss. Our target skill is Text and Graphic Features/Biography. Our target strategy is to Question. This week, our spelling pattern will be a review of short vowels into words with s blends. Day 4-Art Spelling: Write your spelling words #1-10 including Monday the Bonus Word three times each Parent Signature: Math: Chapter 4 P79 & P80

______Math: Chapter 4 P81 & P82 Day 2-Library Spelling: Making Words—please be sure to have your child cut out the letters to make the words. Wednesday He/She may make words with short vowels and Parent Signature: words with s blends as well as any other words they ______are able to make using the given letters. Day 3-Gym *Tomorrow, we welcome December  December Reading Logs will come home as November Thursday Logs are completed! We will have Art. First Grade News: I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break with your families  We have been learning about clouds in science and how they are a collection of water droplets. The three different types we learned are: cumulus, cirrus, and stratus. Ask your child to describe each cloud to you. Cumulus clouds are fluffy, cirrus clouds are wispy or wavy like and high in the sky, and stratus clouds can be flat or gray and can look like sheets of fog. Reminders:  Please help your child to learn how to tie his/her shoes at home   Brrr it’s getting cold outside…please be sure to send your child to school with appropriate outerwear for these cold days on the playground  Spelling List #9
