th th 12 & 13 September 2017 Shotton Flintshire 9.30am – 4.30pm This training is for those who work within the substance misuse sector, across the six counties of North Wales. It will be especially helpful for workers who are indirectly involved with substance misuse issues (i.e. teachers, police, housing workers, community support groups, receptionists etc). Each course will be interagency with participants from a variety of organisations.

Course Aims: To increase awareness of the fundamental principles associated with the recognition and management of drug and alcohol misuse.

Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will have an increased awareness of:  the physical and psychological effects of drugs and alcohol  the treatment options available to drug and alcohol users  UK drug and alcohol laws  the appropriate support agencies available for drug and alcohol users.

Course accredited by Wea Cymru at OCN Level 2. Participants will receive an information pack and workbook, and certificate of attendance for the course.

This course is provided FREE OF CHARGE. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided on each day

Charging for Non-Attendance (excludes Gwynedd) This training course is provided free of charge. However, non attendance or late cancellations will incur a charge. Courses will be charged at £50 per person unless cancelled with at least 5 working days notice. If another member of staff attends instead of the person originally booked on the course there will be no charge. Cancellations and changes MUST be sent to CAIS Training Department in writing (e-mails are accepted) so that an audit trail is in place which can be used in the event of any disagreement over charges.
