Expectations of Nova Academy Students

1. Students must sign in and out of the Nova academy daily.

2. Students are expected to follow the principles of respect yourself, respect others and respect school property.

3. Talking out loud to other students at the academy will not be tolerated given that other students will be working on various assignments and need not be disturbed.

4. Parents will be contacted immediately in the event of major behavior problems at the Academy.

5. If you are having any problems with materials or software, it will be your responsibility to informing the Nova Staff of your situation.

6. No food is allowed in the Nova Academy. Drinks must be in a container with a lid and consumed away from the laptops.

7. You may listen to CD’s, ipods, or mp3 players; however, YouTube and any other online media are not permitted and you must not disturb your fellow classmate. Failure to comply will result in a loss of this privilege.

8. Students are allowed to meditate for no more than 10 minutes per day.

9. All students are prohibited from using any tobacco products at any time in any school building including the Nova academy.

10. You will be graded on daily work, participation, discussions, quizzes, test, etc. All students are required to complete a Service Learning Project to receive full credit of all courses.

11. Nova Academy students 18 years or older are permitted to leave campus for “B” lunch, but must return prior to the tardy bell. Failure to return by the bell will result in 1 additional hour of your service learning project requirement.

12. You must complete all required assignments, test and service learning hours no later than the end of the semester to receive your credit.

***The Nova Academy will follow all of the other policies and procedures outlined by AHS***
