I. Information label 1. VCI Plastic bag 150 micron 2. Steel strapping 32 x 0.8mm around plastic pallet to secure pallet around base of coil 3. Steel strapping seal 4. Plastic pallet (Type D for small coils; Type E for large coils) 5. Reinforced PE-coated VCI paper (Food Grade) covering the coil 6. Nylon strap to secure plastic bag at the bottom of the plastic pallet

 Basic Protection is obtained by covering the material with VCI plastic.  The packaging is not fully airtight and necessitates that coils be appropriately protected against rain and wetness during loading, transit and off-loading.  To prevent condensation and sweating the coils must be stored in a dry, ventilated warehouse.  The minimum number of days after receipt before the onset of corrosion can be expected, under correct storage conditions and undamaged packaging is indicated below.

Note:

 Claims for corrosion will only be considered by ArcelorMittal South Africa if the material has been properly stored in a dry, ventilated warehouse, and the claims submitted within the periods indicated above.  Once protective packaging has been removed and material taken into stock, ArcelorMittal South Africa will not consider any claims for corrosion.  Coils should be off-loaded under cover and not in the open.  Arrangements must be made with ArcelorMittal South Africa regarding the return of pallets and inner sleeves.
