Have the great honour to invite you to participate in the 20th Antony Takwondo International Open to be held in Antony (6km from Paris), on Saturday March 23rd and Sunday March 24th, 2002.

The Antony International Open is the most ancient of all French Taekwondo open tournaments. It is well known both for its good organisation and the quality of the competitors, as well as for its friendly and fair spirit.

The 2001 issue was a great success with over 250 competitors from 12 countries (Argentina, Belgium, Columbia, India, Iran, Mali, Portugal, Spain, etc.)

To celebrate its twentieth birthday, the organisers want to put a special emphasis on the event. For the first time, in order to allow more teams to take part, the competition will last two days.

It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 20 th Antony International Open, which will take place on Saturday March 23rd and Sunday March 24th, 2002, in Antony (92).

The Antony Cup has been favoured since its creation with the participation of a good number of foreign teams. The 2001 edition was a big success with over 250 competitors coming from 12 countries. This year, we shall once more do our best in order to provide the public with high quality fights and spectacle. For this reason and in order to keep the high level reached, the minimum grade for both juniors and seniors will be red belt (1st, 2nd and 3rd keup).

We hope to meet you on this special and friendly occasion. We shall be pleased to answer any question about the organisation of the Antony Cup or your participation.

Beware: time will change during the Saturday to Sunday night. Do not forget to set your watch! Saturday categories Male Juniors: -45kg, -51kg, -55kg, -59kg, -68kg, -78kg Female Juniors: -44kg, -49kg, -55kg, -63kg Male Seniors: -62kg, -78kg, +84kg Female Seniors: -47kg, -63kg, -67kg, -72kg, +72kg.

For each competitor, the Team head will present:  the national passport and an ongoing TKD licence;  an ongoing medical attestation;  a written (parental) authorisation for minors;  payment of entry fee (10 Є). No individual registration will be accepted; The minimum grade required is red belt. NB: Competitors whose weight would be different from the weight on the pre- registration sheet will not be allowed to compete Teams must also  Belong to a national WTF federation  Provide a referee for every 10 competitor  Provide a coach for every 5 competitor (maximum number: 3)

5 - Competition rules :  KO System WTF, ETU, FFTDA;  Protections are compulsory are brought by the competitors: trunk protector, head gear, groin, forearm and shin protectors  Contest duration: Male & female juniors: preliminary contests: 2 x 2 mn; finals: 3 x 2 mn; rest: 30 sec. Male & female seniors: preliminary contests: 3 x 2 mn; rest: 30 sec. Finals: 3 x 3 mn; rest: 1 mn.  Only competitors, coaches, officials and referees have access to the fighting area.  Competitors cannot act as coaches.  Coaches wear a track-suit and a pair of sport shoes. They carry a towel and a bottle of water.  Referees wear their formal uniform: green or blue jacket, grey trousers, Taekwondo shoes.

5 – Lunch : Team heads and referees are invited to a friendly lunch from 1 till 2 p.m on Sunday.

6 – Awards :  A cup for the winner, for the second and third of each category.  A trophy for the highest scoring team and a special prize for the best fighter.
