A Stranger in a Strange Land – live story-telling hosted by Mark Yaconelli. Llangollen Pavilion – Friday 29th July 7pm – 9pm. Hear real life stories of brave souls who’ve made journey’s from their home for all sorts of reasons. Everyone is welcome. See the poster for details.

Mark's last public event in the diocese will be on Sunday 31 July at St John's Church, Rhosymedre, where he will be preaching at the 11am service of Morning Prayer.

Housing Justice Roadshow “Homelessness, Housing need and the role of the Church” – Thursday 8 September, 9.30am-3pm at the Salvation Army Church and ARK Community Centre, Garden Road, Rhosddu, Wrexham, LL11 2NU. Bishop Gregory will be one of the keynote speakers. This week:

Friday Musical Lunchbox Concert in St Peter’s, Ruthin at 12.30 pm - John Hosking (St Asaph Cathedral) will play favourite organ pieces, including the Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor and the Pachelbel 'Canon'. There is no admission charge, but donations are requested for the Mayor of Ruthin's Charity, Wales Air Ambulance. The audience is invited to bring their sandwiches and have a cup of tea or coffee whilst listening to the music. The Press has been invited to come along and record the presentation to the Mayor of the donations received from the five July Friday concerts.

Classical Organ Recitals throughout the Summer at St Grwst’s Church, Llanrwst. 30th July. 13th, 20th and 27th August. 3pm – 4pm. Free Admission with donations gratefully received.

Joint Church Service between St Cystennin’s Church and St Katherine’s Church, Llandudno Junction. Sunday, 31 July 2016, 11am at St Katherine’s Church, Bryn Pydew, Llandudno Juntion, LL31 9QA. Led by Revd Noel Carter. Following the Service there will be a bring and share lunch.

Gareth Price of Summer Fields School, Oxford will give the fifth of the 2016 Evening Series of Organ Recitals at St. Asaph Cathedral on Wednesday 3 August at 7.30pm. Admission £6, the programme will feature works by J.S. Bach, Franck and Duruflé.

Training

Residential community organising training - Noddfa, Penmaenmawr, Tuesday 23rd August 6pm – Wednesday 24th August 6pm. A 24 hour intensive community organising training, where participants will be challenged to become community leaders. • Develop the skills and confidence to take community action. • Learn how to plan and run strategic campaigns. • Build relationships with others from diverse groups and communities Free to anyone from a TCC member group, others are welcome to attend providing they cover the cost of training. Communicating effectively for change - Sat 27th Aug, 10 – 3pm, Hope Parish Hall. Jointly organised with TCC and HOPE not hate. Get the facts on refugees and immigration, and the confidence to have conversations in communities. This training course is designed to give participants skills to effectively communicate with others on the challenging issues of immigration, asylum, diversity, and race. We will look at the techniques needed to communicate constructively around challenging issues, as well as how to bring others on board with a campaign or idea. Please bring lunch. Survey on Housing an Ageing Population in Wales In December 2015, an Expert Group on Housing an Ageing Population in Wales was established by the Welsh Government. The aim of the Group is to provide advice to the Welsh Government on the future policy direction in relation to housing an ageing population. St Cystennin's church, Mochdre will be holding a Welsh service which with a Communion service at 3pm on 31st July. The service will be led by The Rev'd Glyn Thomas A warm welcome will be extended to all who appreciate the Welsh language, welsh first language speakers including welsh learners and non welsh speakers and any who wish to support the measures taken to bring Welsh language services back to this beautiful church.

St Mark's Connah's Quay is holding A Last Night at the Proms concert with the Deeside Silver Band on 4 September at 6pm. Tickets are £4 (no concessions) and can be booked either through [email protected] or the Church Wardens.

The Feast Day of William Morgan - Saturday 10 September 2016. This day will be celebrated with a Festival Eucharist at 12noon in the Cathedral. During the service the William Morgan Bible will be out on display. A warm welcome is extended to all throughout the Diocese. Poster circulated previously.

Captain Noah And His Floating Zoo On The River Conwy! A summer-holiday musical workshop will be held in Glan Conwy this year 8-12 August. If you are aged 7-12 and enjoy music and theatre, come along and join the fun at Church House, preparing for the performance of Captain Noah on Friday 12 August at 4.30pm. A Concert for Organ and Strings will be performed by the Rotherfield Ensemble at St Silin’s Church, Llansilin on Wednesday 17 August at 2 p.m. Admission free. Donations to the Friends of St Silin’s.

Flower Festival at St. Mary’s Church, Treuddyn - August bank holiday weekend. Opening times: 26th:10am -6pm, 27th: 10am-8pm, 28th:11am- 6pm, 29th: 10am - 6pm. £3 admission. Refreshments available. Poster circulated previously.

Members of All Saint Church, Hoole are organising a fund-raising cycling sportive around Cheshire on 4 September, 2016 on behalf of Life NoW. The aim of the charity is to build a hospice for young people aged between 18 and 40 in the North West and North Wales who have life limiting conditions. The more riders that take part the more the charity will benefit. If you would like to take part please see the poster and booking form.
