No-Shave November

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department took part in a No-Shave November fund raiser that benefitted the Children Hospital of Philadelphia Cancer Center. With full support from Chief Michael Morris, Officers donated money to CHOP Cancer Center. In return, the Chief waived the department’s policy towards shaving for the entire month. The effort raised just under $3300.00 for this great cause.

Chief Morris states “I would like to thank Sergeant Gary Rzemyk for promoting the No Shave November initiative. Sergeant Rzemyk coordinated the event and fundraising efforts. To the men and women of EHTPD I would like to thank you for investing your own money to such a worthwhile cause and for those who actually went without a shave, thank you for participating and bringing awareness to men’s health issues. I believe that this event has been a huge success; it reinforces the values of service and giving and has unified our agency in a common cause.”

On this date, December 1, 2014 the police department brought this event to a close by holding a best beard, goatee and mustache contest. Best Beard was won by Class II Officer Michael Santoro, Best Goatee was won by Officer Ernest Dunson and Best Mustache was won by Officer Brian Keane. Once the contest was complete officers went to Ryan’s Barber Shop in Linwood for straight razor shaves. Chief Morris states “I would like to Thank “Ryan’s Barber Shop” for opening their doors and providing a clean shave to our staff.”
