School Community Council Meeting

School Community Council Meeting December 15, 2016, 9:30 a.m. Westridge Conference Room

Visitors:

1. Approve Minutes from October 13, 2016 Meeting Erin Hall made a motion to approve the minutes. Becky Thomas seconded the motion. All in Favor

2. Discuss Training From Trustlands Training Meeting Mark Nance explained the amendment, which passed during the November elections. Marie Patrick talked about understanding test scores from SAGE. It was suggested that we have a parent night next school year explaining on how to navigate the website.

3. Review 2015-2016 School Data PBIS Systems (Positive Behavioral and Interventions and Supports) Becky Thomas spoke about students having a “Behavior Infraction Card”. Minor Infraction – The teacher will take care of the infractions in the classroom and keep a file with the cards. Major Infraction – The student will be send to the office/LRR. The child will fill out a form about their behavior. If the child is younger, the teacher will help them fill it out.

Becky Thomas would like to have a school store where students could earn tickets to shop. It was suggested to have items in the store with the school logo.

LRR (Low Reinforcement Room) Students are sent to LRR to calm down and fill out a “Think Sheet”. Parents are called by the teacher or Megan Clark, who is over the LRR room. Megan Clark logs information into PowerSchool and a tracking sheet. Students can earn rewards geared toward the child. Positive Behavior Rewards Becky Thomas would like to have a school store where students could earn tickets to shop. It was suggested to have items in the store with the school logo. She would like to have teachers submit two student names, per week. Reward positive behavior with tickets for the store.

Becky Thomas made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Erin Hall seconded the motion. All were in favor.
