Overall Purpose of Post
This post is offered on a Fixed Term Contract, 1st February 2017- 31st March 2018.
The purpose of the post is to provide supportive, strategic and operational management of the Cathedral’s complex finances and its budgetary controls and reporting.

Attributes Essential Desirable
Be in sympathy with the aims General and ethos of the Cathedral.
A Qualified Accountant (ACA, Qualifications ACCA, ACMA) with a detailed and Training knowledge of IT systems for accounting;
Able to demonstrate an holistic knowledge of accounting systems (including Sage 50 as essential) and accounting procedures.
Detailed senior management Experience experience of day to day accounts management, payroll, financial monitoring and the use of computerised accounting packages.
Experience of Charity and retail financial reporting and associated legal requirements.
Senior level knowledge of SAGE Knowledge, accounting system, payroll skills and systems, preparation of budgets abilities and accounts, VAT returns and tax recovery related to Gift Aided income. High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Able to prepare financial reports.
