Hello, I Am Perseus One of the Most Famous Heroes in Greek Mythology

Hero Perseus

Hello, I am Perseus one of the most famous heroes in Greek Mythology. My mother was a beautiful princess and my father was the almighty Zeus. My mother’s father was an evil King named Acrisius. An oracle told my grandfather King Acrisius that I would kill him someday. My grandfather became mad after the oracle revealed the future. He decided to lock my mother away in a bronze tower so that she could never marry nor have children. This is when my father Zeus appears to my mother and promised her to turn her prison into a field of sunny land with many flowers. He also offered to make my mother his wife. To make a long story short, I was born. My grandfather sent us to sea hoping we would die. However, we landed on an island called Seriphos where Polydectes was King. The King fell in love with my mother, but my mother was not interested. He decided to send me on this long journey to bring him the head of Medusa. I later found out that he was trying to get rid of me so that he could pursue my mother. I accepted, and on my journey I was given special gifts by the Gods to help me defeat Medusa. I was given a helmet from Hades that makes me invisible. I received an indestructible sword from Hermes, and a special shield from Athena. With these weapons, I was destined to kill Medusa. Medusa was this ugly female creature with reptile skin and snakes growing from her head. The also revealed that anyone to look at her would be turned into stone. She was said to have been beautiful long ago, but the Goddess Athena turned her into a monster after sleeping with Neptune (Poseidon) in her sacred temple. After conquering Medusa I had many adventures on my way home. I met Atlas and felt sorry for him for having the burden of holding up the sky. Therefore I turned him into stone with the head of Medusa. I also encountered the beautiful Andromeda. She was being punished because her mother had ridiculed Poseidon, saying that Andromeda was more beautiful than his daughters. Angered by this comment Poseidon wanted Andromeda scarified to one of his sea monsters. I instantly fell in love with Andromeda and felt that I was destined to help her. I pulled Medusa head from my sack and turned the sea creature into stone. After this deed Andromeda was destined to love me too. I asked her father’s hand in marriage and we returned together to Seriphos. When I returned home I found out that Polydectes had made my mother his handmaiden because she refused to marry him. Angry at this injustice I turned Polydectes into stone with Medusa head. Andromeda and I lived happily ever after. I gave Medusa’s head was given to Athena who put Medusa’s head onto a shield.
