DIVERSO V BLURB

Diverso V is back and better than ever with a scintillating line up of performers, songstresses, artists and designers. So bring your love, bring your money, and bring your beautiful selves to help us bring on Diverso V at the legendary Northcote Social Club.

Singer/Songwriter Nyssa Bradsworth who performs with style, prowess, and a breathtaking voice. Aimee Francis described as; 2 shots of Rolling Stones with 1 shot each of Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith, a dash of Janis Joplin & Suzi Quatro mixed in a long tall glass of rocknroll. Sammi Rayne who writes music with passion, played the guitar since she was ten and sung before she could talk.

And where would Diverso be without our spoken word women? Emilie Zoey Baker, back on our shores from her 2009 North America tour, speaks up.

Diverso V’s performance art includes Row Manson's twisted burlesque, which will awaken you to a dream or a nightmare, where sexy meets the grotesque, the beautiful seems absurd and the ugly can become desirable. And magically yours, Cath Jamison, Australia’s Leading Female star of Magic will deliver a wickedly hilarious edgy performance and offer up a unique feminine twist to the world of Magic and intrigue.

Ending the evening with a big bad band Tantalum is a group of five dedicated women musicians, who share a passion for original rock music. Easy to watch, and very satisfying to listen to, their compositions have a very hard edge that represents their female authors; their lyrics ring true with stories of life and love, powered along by deep, gutsy, solid rhythms with rock and blues influences.

And for our MC....drum roll please.... Bec Matthews. Bec is a percussionist, performer, educator, clown, theatre maker, musical director and now an MC.

Bec is possibly best known as the drummer for Yana Alana and Tha Paranas, and musical director for the Women’s Circus. You may well have seen her swinging through the air playing on a wall of drums or making music with domestic items such as a cheese grater and a toilet. Bec has recently found the perfect outlet for these antics as she has become a member of the Circus Oz band.

And last but not least, the dynamic duo - Kirri and Lynn letting their hands do all the talking. This event is Auslan interpreted.

Diverso V will also feature stalls selling the crafts of local women designers including Cassandra Hill a self-confessed glass obsessive who makes one-off pieces which are kiln fired, dichroic glass and copper.
