We are pleased to announce the inaugural year of a new summer program offerings. Our Camp Koala is open to Pre-K 3 to 4th grade and the Summer Workshops are designed for students from 5th to 8th graders.

Each week, students may attend Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm. All students need to bring lunch and snacks. Students can delve into following areas of interest:

Summer Theatre Actors Growing Everyday Stage- Explore creative movement, dramatics, and music while learning the many aspects of the performing arts. Prepare for current and future theatre experiences and foster your imagination & individuality!

Monday Physical/Vocal Warmups- Learning the safe and proper ways to prepare the performer to have full control of their voice and body. Acting-Discuss the performers motivation and expectations of the theatre program, while learning about the directors and the other performers. Performers will learn the words and labels that are associated with the stage, theatre staff, music, and dance. Music-All STAGE members will learn about correct breathing, vocal cord activity, musical scales and tongue twisters to train the voice. Dance- Discover the basics and importance of stretching, and will participate in across the floor exercises and learn basic dance steps.

Tuesday Acting- STAGE members will learn about the important factors of performing in front of an audience. Students will work together on creative scenes to play multiple emotions. Singing- Review with vocal warm-ups and learn to sing through a vowel and a yawn. Performers will have their vocal ranges determined and will work on enunciation techniques. Dancing- Learn the basics of musical theatre dance techniques. Combinations will be taught and the choreographers will assist all performers with tips on how to pick up choreography quickly.

Wednesday Acting-Broadway History & Knowledge- Discuss different Broadway shows and categorize them pertaining to their content: contemporary, traditional and classic. Music- Performers will listen to songs and discuss how they should be categorized by sound: up tempo, legit, ballad. Work on a full ensemble song. Dancing- The basics of ballet and tap will be taught and across the floor exercises and combinations will be learned to assess the new found abilities.

Thursday Acting- Audition techniques, including song choice, resume builders and the dos and don’ts of auditioning will be taught to all performers. Music- Performers will be split into vocal ranges and will work on a full ensemble song in different harmony parts. Performers will be given advice and guidance on what songs fit their vocal range. Dancing- Incorporate multiple dance styles in a full ensemble dance.

Friday Acting- STAGE members will work on reading, analyzing, and performing scenes with cast members. Each performer will get their own individualized monologue as a take away. Music-Harmonies and singing techniques will be combined along with the previously learned dance styles. Each performer will have a song list take away with songs that fit their vocal range. Dance- A full ensemble dance will be completed along with the song learned. Stage and Easel Weekly Fee $250 and July 18-22

Easel - Explore art through a variety of mediums, sculpture, painting, and mask making.

Monday Vincent Van Gogh- Learn about Van Gogh and Impressionism. Create a piece of art in Van Gogh's style.

Tuesday Sculpture- Create a clay sculpture and paint it.

Wednesday Mask making- Make a paper mache mask.

Thursday Pablo Picasso- Paint in Picasso's cubist style. Friday Claude Monet-Paint like Monet using water colors.

Monday Intro to Auditions- The “Dos & Don’ts” of auditioning: song choices, resume builders and audition techniques.

Tuesday Dance- Performers will discover stretching techniques and across the floor exercises while learning the basics of musical theatre style dance, tap and ballet.

Wednesday Broadway History & Knowledge- Discuss and introduce Broadway shows while categorizing them pertaining to their content: music/dramatics/dance. Acting- Learn about the important factors of performing in front of an audience and performers will work on improvisation scenes, scene studies and character analyses.

Thursday Music- Participate in vocal warm ups, learn proper breathing and singing techniques while determining each individual vocal range. Performers will be given advice and guidance on what songs best fit their range.

Friday Student Showcase- Performers will come together in a collaborative effort to discuss, support and inspire fellow performers on what they have learned, what skills they hope to use in the future and how they view their upcoming experiences the performing arts. Monday, July 18 th – Today, we will complete an overview of the Alice Programming Environment.

 Review basic logon and class safety procedures when working in the lab  Introduce yourself and talk about the games you like to play  Participate in a short discussion on how to plan and design a basic game  Take a basic tour of the Alice Programming and design environment  Learn how to install the Alice Programming language on your home computer

Tuesday, July 19th -Today, we will take a closer look at Alice and learn the basics of object manipulation.

Wednesday, July 20 th - Today, we will begin to build basic game maps.

Thursday July 21 st - Today, we will study basic map programming and command procedures

 Take an advanced tour of Alice programming commands  Learn to program using position commands  Learn to program using orientation commands  Learn to program using appearance commands

Friday, July 22 nd - Today, we will study basic Alice animation and build our final game map

 Create a map of your own design  Add characters and objects  Add movement and animation commands  Set scene cameras  Showcase your final project to the group
