Experience of delivering immigration/ asylum law advice in a social welfare context (desirable)

Experience of working within the remit of a Legal Aid Agency contract (desirable)

Experience of managing a high caseload/ workload

Experience of flexible working according to business demand balancing multiple priorities

Experience of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people

Experience of accurately drafting letters, reports and complex applications and presenting work in a clear layout

Experience of working within an advice and information organisation within the third/ charity sector (desirable)

Experience of facilitating training sessions to range of audiences (desirable)

Understanding and awareness of the relationship between immigration and other areas of Social Welfare Law

A thorough understanding of professional boundaries and the issues surrounding confidentiality

Currently qualified within OISC/ IAAS (desirable)

Ability to manage workload/ cases proactively and effectively from start to finish

Ability to interpret regulations/ complex information and explain them to clients and colleagues with clear advice and next steps

Effective written and verbal communication skills

The ability to build effective working relationships with local and regional partners
