ROYAL NAVY ENGINEERS OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 (25th Anniversary)

Introduction

1. The 25th Anniversary Royal Navy Engineers Open Golf Championship (RNE25) will be held on Monday 10th September 2018 at China Fleet Country Club (CFCC), Saltash, Plymouth, Cornwall PL12 6LJ. The event is open to all serving members of the WE (Incl. CIS) / ME (Incl. TM) / Med Tech, AE (Incl. SE) branches; all RFA Engineers (Incl. CIS) and RM Vehicle Mechanics. RN & RFA Veteran Engineers are extremely welcome. Players may play a practice round at CFCC on Sunday 9th September 2018 at discounted prices.

Championship Format and Entry Fees

2. Format of the day – AM Stableford - White Tees (9/10 Handicap). PM Stableford - Yellow Tees (3/4 Handicap). The Overall Champion will be decided by the AM & PM combined Stableford points. The maximum handicap for the competition is 28 (men) and 36 (women); players are reminded that a valid handicap may be requested. The cost of entry to the event is £70 (£45 for China Fleet Golf Members). The cost includes tea/coffee and a bacon roll on arrival (served from 0630), lunch, green fees (two rounds), a two course Championship Presentation Dinner and Prizes. Payment by cheque or BACS is acceptable but electronic payment is preferred. If paying by cheque please make payable to ENGINEERS GOLF and forward with your completed application form (1 form per person) to the Treasurer (see application form below and/or website for details; www.engineersopen.net. A non-service e-mail address is required on each application. If payment by BACS is preferred please submit application by post (or e-mail to [email protected]), you will then be contacted by e-mail requesting payment and providing payment details.

3. This year we will be celebrating 25 years of The Engineers Open; this promises to be the biggest and best ever! Do not miss your chance to be part of the 25 th anniversary celebrations. Closing date for entries is 1200 Friday 31st August 2018. It is requested that entries are submitted well before this date so that the tee draw can be made and final Championship preparations completed in good time. Successful applicants will be notified via e-mail on receipt of application and payment. Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis; however, a small number of places will be reserved for sea-going personnel. Should the competition be oversubscribed, individuals will be informed and placed on a reserve list. The refund of entrance fees for non-attendance will only be given for Service reasons, and if received by the Treasurer / Sponsorship Co-ordinator in writing prior to 3rd September 2018.

4. Competitively priced accommodation is available at CFCC adjacent to the course; this is often booked well in advance for other functions. Please book at the earliest opportunity directly with the CFCC to avoid disappointment, stating that you are part of the Royal Navy Engineers Open Golf Championship. Limited Service accommodation may be available at HMS Drake, but must be booked directly by individuals using the following contact details:

7. Individual tee times will be available at www.engineersopen.net 3 days prior to the event and promulgated in the Sports Bar on the evening of Sunday 9th September 2018. The first tee time will be at 0715 (and 1300) with play commencing from both the first and tenth tees (at 10 minute intervals). Please be ready to tee off at least 15 minutes before your allocated time.

Any player indicating a Food Allergy or Vegetarian/Vegan requirement on their application form will be contacted by e-mail on an individual basis to ascertain exact dietary requirement.
