PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL - April 23rd & 24th

Presider: Our God is gracious and merciful, and so we bring to God our prayers for all who are in need...... as we cry out, Lord hear our prayer...

Lector: 1. For our Parish community, the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, deep in mourning at the loss of our Pastor Emeritus, but truly our Pastor, Monsignor O’Connor. May we strive, as he did, to be faithful to the command of Jesus, to love one another and thus, as he did, make the world a better place…

That those pledged to one another in love, might recognize how important it is to confess their love for, and their need to be loved by each other as they live every day…

For parents, teachers, and all who first show children how to love as Jesus did…

For continued growth in love and unity among Christians of every denomination and among all peoples, whatever their religious belief…

For the intentions of our parish book and with a special prayer: That during this Jubilee Year of Mercy, all God’s people come to love one another as Jesus has loved us… we pray

2. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: ...... especially Vilma Perez, Laurel Hessing, James Martinek, Vivian Sholder, Patricia Darmanin, Lavonia Cisse, Kathleen Harris, Marguerite LaMarque, … those injured in the earthquake in Ecuador and all those wounded in the service of our country,..... that they be patient in their time of suffering and soon come to the fullness of health.... we pray.... 3. For those dear to us who have died, whose memories are with us at this time, especially,

Sat. 5:30 pm Hamilton Dodd Webster

Sun. 8:30 am Gugliemo Veltri 10:00 am Ted Cabo 12:30 pm Regis Briand 5:30 pm Msgr. Robert O’ Connor (For whom this mass is offered)

Monsignor Robert O’ Connor, Brian and Christina Maniotis who died during the past week... those snatched by the earthquake in Ecuador, all of the victims of war and terrorism – that they may rest forever in the embrace of the one true God, we pray....

4. And let us pause now to present our own personal petitions... (PAUSE ....count to 10)...... We are still a nation at war, let us pray for our president, our elected officials, the members of our diplomatic corps(core) and all those who serve our country in our uniformed services..... may their efforts for peace and justice be fruitful;..... together, let us raise our voices in a prayer for true and lasting peace...... the words are found on the back cover of the hymnal...

Presider: O God of love, you have shown us what love looks like in the life, death, and resurrection of your only Son. Hear these our prayers, And grant that we too may show your love to the world through the same Jesus Christ our Risen Lord.
