SERVANT ARRESTED - JEWELLERY WORTH Rs. 4 LAC & Rs. 22, 000/- CASH RECOVERED

With the arrest of one Prakash r/o Nepal aged 20 years working as a cook, South-West Distt. Police has solved a case of theft within 24 hours and recovered jewellery worth Rs. 4 lacs and 22 thousand cash.

One Bhupinder Singh r/o Naraina Vihar reported that on the night of 17/18.8.08 he had gone with his family for ring ceremony of his daughter in a hotel at Connaught Place. When he returned back in the early morning at about 3 AM, he found that there had been a theft in his house and jewellery and cash was missing. He reported the matter on 18.8.08 to PS Naraina. FIR No. 165/08 U/S 380/411-IPC was registered and investigation was taken up. A team of officers was constituted with HC Jagdish, Ct. Dharam Pal and Ct. Aditya Narain headed by Sh. Dhirender Nath, Inspr. Law and Order under the supervision of Sh. Narain Singh, SHO/Naraina. From the scene of crime it was apparent that the theft has been committed by some one who was aware of the movements of the family. Hence all the servants of the family as well as those in the neighbourhood were questioned. Information about those who used to frequent the neighbourhood was also collected.

It was also found that there was a male servant in the neighbouring house who had stayed there at night while the neighbour’s family had also gone to attend the same function. When the team went to search the servant quarter of the neighbour’s house, Prakash tried to run away who was apprehended. On questioning he tried to mislead the police. However on search of his servant quarter, stolen property was recovered from his shoes where he had hidden it to prevent any detection in case his house was searched.

The accused Prakash was working as a domestic servant for the last 3 years. He is a fourth class dropout from Nepal.

AUTOLIFTERS ARRESTED – THREE CARS RECOVERED

With the arrest of Sanjay @ Kamal aged 26 years r/o Uttam Nagar and Rupinder @ Satbir r/o Mohammad Pur, South-West Distt. Police has recovered three vehicles stolen from the area of PS Naraina & Mayapuri.

On 11.8.08 Sohan Lal Bansal r/o Naraina Village, working in a private firm, had parked his Maruti 800 car opposite his building along the roadside. At about 10 PM when he alongwith his nephew had gone for a walk after dinner, they found that two persons were sitting in the front seat of car and trying to remove the car from the parked area. They suddenly raised an alarm. The patrolling staff on finding something wrong reached at the spot and overpowered Sanjay @ Kamal and Rupinder @ Satbir. A case FIR No. 162/08 u/s 379/411/34 has been registered in this regard at PS Naraina.

The accused Sanjay @ Kamal had married a girl against the wishes of his parents and left his home at Uttam Nagar and settled in Aligarh (UP). He runs a garage there. Rupinder @ Satbir is son of his brother-in-law who was previously working as an agent in private couriers and collection agent in ICICI Bank.

The modus operandi of Sanjay @ Kamal was to open the doors of the parked vehicles with the help of a key like device made of iron rod. He used to sell the stolen vehicle for an amount of Rs. 10,000/- to one Bhura r/o Distt. Mahamaya Nagar, UP. Three stolen vehicles have been recovered from them. Further investigations are on..

A team of officers of Special Cell led by Inspr. Lalit Mohan, Inspr. Hridaya Bhushan under the supervision of Sh. Sanjeev Yadav, ACP has apprehended the most wanted Mafia Don of Jharkhand Anil Sharma ( Age 48 Years) R/o Ranchi, Jharkhand alongwith two of his associates Kanhaiya Kumar ( Age 28 Years ) and Uma Shankar Prasad Sinha, @ Bholtha ( Age 45 years ) both resident of Distt. Begusarai, Bihar

Anil Sharma is a tender mafia don operating from Ranchi Jail and is involved in more than 45 cases of murder, attempt to murder, attempt to murder, robbery, kidnapping, threatening and riots. A reward of Rs. 5,00,000/- was declared by Jharkhand Police for his apprehensions.

Anil Sharma was awarded life sentence in a murder case while facing trial in several other cases. He was lodged in Ranchi Jail. He pretended that he had heart trouble and got himself admitted to RMC Hospital. In hospital Anil conspired with Sunil, Karu both r/o Ranchi and Kanhaiya for escape from police custody. Sunil and Karu were electric generator contractor in RMC Hospital which gave them easy access in the hospital. Anil Sharma is maternal uncle of Kanhaiya. On the night intervening 22-23/05/08, as per plan Sunil bought a Marshal Jeeps at the main Gate of RMC Hospital. While security personnel guarding Anil Sharma were taking nap, Anil Sharma managed an easy escape. Sunil, Karu and Kanhaiya dropped Anil Sharma near Neeelam Hotel, Hazaribagh and from there Anil Sharma fled in a Scorpio to Kolkatta with Munchun, who is a railway contractor in Ranchi. Sunil and Karu surrendered in the case and are in judicial custody.

Immediately, after this incident a team led by Sh. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dy.S.P., Special Branch, Ranchi had visited Delhi and shared information with the Special Cell. Thereafter, Special Cell continued developing criminal intelligence. On 20.08.08, a specific information was received that Anil Sharma would come near sports complex, Sector 10 Dwarka, New Delhi to meet his associates. Accordingly a trap was laid and Anil Sharma alongwith his associates Kanhaiya Kumar and Uma Shankar Prasad Sinha, @ Bholtha were apprehended. All the three accused above were arrested u/s 41.1(a) Cr PC.

Anil Sharma was subjected to interrogation in which he revealed he had studied upto matric. Initially, he entered the business of Govt. contracts. One Surender Bengali, a local goon and Govt. contractor, directed him not to bid for a contract. However Anil Sharma defied and joined the bid. Surender Bengali in retaliation, fired at him in Patna, while Anil was returning from the bidding place but Anil managed to escape. Two days later, Guddu, a relative of Anil was killed by henchmen of Surender Bengali. The same year Anil Sharma avenged the killing by killing Amar Soni, a close associate of Surender Bengali in Ranchi. He was arrested in the case and remained in jail only for 13 days and was released on bail. After that the graphs of Anil Sharma’s criminal career soared. He dominated the tender mafia in Ranchi and Jharkahand. In 1988 he along with his associates killed one Binno, a tender mafia in Ranchi. In jail he slit the throat of Sudhir with a surgical blade and killed him. He was convicted for life imprisonment. He was in jail since 1997, and from the jail, he controlled the tender mafia and was involved in 3 cases of extortions, Kidnappings, attempt to murders and murders. He became the leader for bidding and obtaining Govt. tenders in Jharkhand.

Anil Sharma directed Suresh Thakur, a Railway contract not to bid for a contract . Suresh did not pay heed to his directions and participated in his bid for Railway tender. Anil’s henchman Amrinder Tiwari and his associates killed Suresh Thakur r/o Chutia, Ranchi near Ranchi railway station.

In March 2006 Deva r/o Dhurva, Ranchi, who was an associate of Surender Bengali filed a tender in Railways despite Anil Sharma’s warning. Anil Sharma got him killed through Kanhaiya, Raju Shukla and other henchmen in front of Railway office in Ranchi.

Anil Sharma asked protection money through his gang members Sushil Srivastava and Pradhan from one Cable operator. But the cable operator didn’t pay. On this Sushil Srivastava and Pradhan killed the cable operator at the behest of Anil Sharma.

In the month of Feb.02 Manjay a Railway contractor had enemity with Pradhan a gang member of Anil Sharma. Manjay was warned not to file the tender in Railway by Anil Sharma but he still filed the said tender. Hence Pradhan killed the said Manjay at the behest of Anil Sharma.

Lakhi Sharma a gang member of Anil Sharma fired at one Mithu Ghosh on the directions of Anil Sharma as he teased and molested sister of Lakhi Sharma.

Ram Devan Rai a mafia of Hazipur was killed by Arun Singh a gang member of Anil Sharma 4 owing to the gang rivalry between the gang of Ram Devan Rai and that of Anil Sharma.

During the assembly elections in 1993 one Rai of rival party was creating problems to Rama Singh, an MLA of Mehnar, Hazipur. Hence Rama Singh took help of Anil Sharma to eliminate him. Anil Sharma alongwith his associates killed Rai.

Anil Sharma fired at a gang member of Surender Bengali in Shashti.

Kanhaiya Kumar is a relative of Anil Sharma. In the year 2004 he started working as a railway contractor on behalf of Anil Sharma as he was in jail. A railway contractor of Ranchi Devanand was bidding for a railway contract and Anil Sharma warned him not to bid. On the directions of Anil Sharma. Kanhaiya along with his associates Sanjay r/o Ranchi, Pintoo r/o Ranchi, Manoj r/o Begusarai murdered Devanand in front of railway office, Ranchi in March 2006. In November 2006 he was arrested in this case and released in August 2007. He is a railway contractor in Ranchi and manages the tenders of railways on the direction of Anil Sharma. He is main conspirator who managed the escape of Anil Sharma.

Uma Shankar Prasad Sinha started his criminal life in 1989, when he was involved in a case of attempt to murder. He is involved in five cases of attempt to murder. He was granted bail in 1997 but he did not attended the court proceedings. He is the main helping hand of Anil Sharma and provides shelter and infrastructure to henchmen of Anil Sharma. He has been declared proclaimed offender in his previous cases.

SRI KRISHNA JANAMASTAMI SHOBHA YATRA

Hindu Parav Samaroh Samiti Sadar Bazar will take out a Shobha Yatra on 22nd August 2008 on the occasion of Annual Sri Krishna Janamastami. The Shobha Yatra will start at 12.00 Noon and will consist of large number of devotees and Jhankis and cover the following route: -

START FROM SHRI SANATAM DHARAM MANDIR, LIBRARY ROAD, AZAD MARKET VIA TOKRIWALAN, AZAD MARKET, PUL BUNGASH, BAHADURGARH ROAD, RUIE MANDI, TELIWARA, SADAR TIMBER MARKET, QUTAB ROAD, SADAR BAZAR, CHOWK BARA TOOTI,

9 PAHARI DHEERAJ, RANI JHANSHI ROAD, EAST PARK ROAD, IDGAH ROAD AND TERMINATE AT SHRI LAXMI NARAYAN MANDIR, AHATA KIDARA. At the following places Traffic will be diverted, in consonance with the position of the procession for time required.

1. Azad Market 2. Bahadurgarh Road 3. Sadar Bazar 4. Qutab Road 5. Rani Jhansi Road 6. Idgah Road.

Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements in order to regulate movement of procession and give diversion wherever required so that the road users face minimum inconvenience.

To facilitate movement of processionists, traffic will be stopped/diverted on the above-mentioned route. The public in general and motorists in particular are advised for their own convenience to avoid journeys on the routes of procession and roads leading to the route and follow the diversion given by the Delhi Traffic Police on duty. Commuters are advised to resort to carpooling and to alternatively make use of metro services in order to avoid the roads affected by the movement of the processions in the city. Public cooperation is solicited.

DY. COMMISSIONER OF POLICE TRAFFIC (NORTHERN RANGE) DELHI GUN SHOT ROBBERY AT SAID-UL-AJAB SOLVED TWO ACCUSED ARRESTED

The South District police has arrested the two accused namely i) Pradeep Kumar age 22 years S/o Jiledar Singh R/o K-2/520, Sangam Vihar, Delhi. & ii) Yogesh Kumar @ Bunty age 22 years S/o Gopal Singh R/o J-1462, Jahangir Puri, Delhi involved in the Robbery after injuring the victim with gun shot near Said-ul-ajab on 09.08.08. Cash Rs. 81000/-, two mobile phones and costly apparels purchased from the looted money has been recovered from the accused.

INCIDENT & TEAM

On 09.08.08, at about 7.30 PM, a PCR call vide DD No. 46 A regarding robbery at Gun point near Said-ul-ajab Park was received at PS Mehrauli which was marked to ASI Virender. An empty case along with one live round was found at the spot and the injured was reported to have been admitted at MAX Hospital, Saket. Complainant, Mr. Jai Bhagwan Sharma having gun shot

10 injury on the left side of lower thoracic region reported that he was returning to his office at Mehrauli - Badarpur road after delivery of recharge coupons of Air Tel to retail dealers and collecting the cash. When he reached near his office, two motorcycle borne youths aged around 20 years; one of them identified as Pardeep Salgi, who had been his retailer earlier; intercepted him. Pradeep offered him to have a tea together and requested to hand over the bag containing cash. As there was a heavy amount of cash inside the bag, he refused the request sensing something amiss. At this Pradeep took out a Pistol and fired at him and sped on their Motorcycle after robbing his cash bag, mobile and recharge coupons. A case vide FIR No. 407/08 U/s 394/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act. was registered against the accused at PS Mehrauli and investigation taken up.

A team under the supervision of Sh Mehar Singh ACP Hauz Khas, headed by Inspr. K.P. Kukreti, SHO/Mehrauli assisted by SI Gagan Bhaskar, ASI Ravi Shankar and Cts. Jai Bhagwan, Gajanand, Narender & Subhash was constituted to apprehend the accused and work out the case.

INVESTIGATION :

During the investigation, sources were deployed around the house of the accused and several persons having close association with accused Pradeep were enquired which revealed the possibility of the accused being found at Jaipur or Agra as he was in the habit of travelling and splurging the looted money. Several Hotels were raided at Jaipur and Agra to apprehend the accused. Meanwhile a secret information was received regarding presence of the accused around his native place in U.P. Teams were despatched and raids conducted at the possible hide out of the accused at Jalal Pur, Bogaon, Shikohabad, Firozabad and Mainpuri. On 19.08.08, at about 9.30 PM, he was traced near the main bus stand at Mainpuri, U.P. while trying to escape to some other hide out but was arrested. Mobile phone of the complainant, Cash Rs. 51300/- & two mobile phones, costly Reebok articles purchased with the robbed money was recovered from the possession of the accused. Cash Rs. 70000/- of the robbed money was deposited by the accused in his account.

On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that one of his associates involved in incident was Yogesh Kumar @ Bunty. Raids were conducted at his possible hide outs and he was arrested from Jahangir Puri area on 20.08.08. Cash Rs. 30500/- of the robbed money was recovered from his possession. The third accused Pradeep @ Lala is absconding.
