Quadro Pool League Rules

( A ) League Format

1.) Shane McCartney is the Quadro League secretary, Dave Walker is the Co-ordinator, Christine Johnson is the league treasurer. Together they are the “Organisers”.

2.) World Rules apply in all Quadro Pool League fixtures and competitions, including the minute rule if decided to be brought in by the captains before the match has started.

3.) The Quadro Pool League is split into 2 Divisions of similar ability ( numbers depend on teams entered into the Quadro Pool League for the relevant season ).

4.) There will be promotion and relegation on a 2 up and 2 down basis.

5.) All fixtures will be issued to every team for that season by the “Organisers”.

6.) All fixtures are to be played on the date given and commence at 8pm unless agreed.

7.) Teams comprise of 4 registered players, Each playing 4 frames each as per issued score sheets ( All 16 Frames must be played ).

8.) Teams compete both home and away throughout the season.

9.) Quadro Pool League matches cannot be postponed or cancelled without prior agreement between the two competing captains. The “Organisers” also need to be informed prior to the game being played. The Match must be replayed within 7 Days prior to the next round of matches Any game may be brought forward ( in advance ) rather than being cancelled , again both captains must agree on this.

10.) If a team fails to turn up on the night without 24 hours notice then the offending team will receive a warning from the league and a 16 v 0 win and 3 points awarded to the opposition. The singles aggregate for the opposition will be sorted on an average of the player`s scores from the start of the season the date of this event. The four players most commonly used will be the four chosen. If a cancellation should occur within the first three games of the season all opposition players will receive 4 frames each. If a team fails to give 24 hour notice twice in any one season then they will be removed from the league.

( B ) Registration and Transfers

1.) A team is registered when the “Organisers” have accepted its application form and payment of £30.00 on the specified registration night only. 2.) Players are registered to a side when their names appear on a scorecard with consent.

3.) No more than 10 players may be registered per team.

4.) No Transfers may occur in the Quadro Pool League during the season.

5.) Teams can sign new players throughout the season but no transfers between teams.

6.) Under no circumstances can any new player be signed in the last three games of the season.

7.) A registered team can only be re-registered to a different venue or manager with the Quadro Pool League`s permission.

( C ) Scoring and Points

1.) Teams score 3 points for a “match” win, 2 for an away draw and 1 for a home draw.

2.) Players score 1 frame point for each frame won on the night.

3.) All scores and results are to be marked down on the issued score cards.

4.) At the end of the season if teams finish on the same points it will be decided by frame difference followed by frames won and lost and then results between the sides in question. Should this still not decide a winner then the two or more teams will be classed as “joint” for that position and any monies shared equally between them.

( D ) Score cards

1.) Each team will now fill out a result card for the same match.

2.) Player`s names must appear as initials followed by surname.

3.) The date along with both team names must be filled out on the score card.

4.) 8 – Ball clearances ( from break only ) must be registered and countersigned by the opposition captain in order to count.

5.) Both captains must send in completed and signed score cards to the contact details printed on the score card itself, they can be emailed, text or sent via whats-app within 48 of the match night but a text with at least the result on it “MUST” be sent on the night of the match.

6.) Failure to send a “TEXT” on the night will now result in a 1 point deduction from that team`s points total.

7.) Illegible or confusing score cards may be deemed inadmissible and the match void. ( E ) Matchplay

1.) All fixtures must be completed as shown on the published list. Any team that does not play when we the “Organisers” say will be expelled and banned from the Quadro Pool league along with all the registered players to that team. ( Basically the Quadro Pool league matches are to be played on Tuesday nights.)

2.) Refereeing is the responsibility of the HOME team. Poor or dishonest refereeing will not be tolerated, Refereeing must be carried out from a standing position and in full view of the playing table ( Not sitting down or from the bar ).

3.) Timing shots ( if requested ) is the responsibility of the HOME team as well. The timer must begin timing as soon as the player has announced the colour of balls in play and finish immediately when the cue contacts the cue-ball, whichever is first. e.g the referee says “Reds in play” then starts the timer, stopping it when the player contacts the white cue-ball with the player`s cue.

4.) Frames must be played in the order shown on the scorecard. A player who is not present when it is their turn to play loses that frame. The match is not to be delayed.

5.) We will can and will ban players from refereeing and note them on the website if we think they are incompetent or unfair to other teams.

( F ) Competitions
