Approved Meeting minutes for April 28, 2011 Members present Co Chair Rick Hayden Co Chair Lucas Adams Joann Austin Carlaine Bovio April Wood Scott Pierz Larry Rancourt Irene Belanger Kyle Pierce Frank Soares -Meeting brought into session by co chair Lucas @ 6:45pm -Co Chair Hayden brought up making April Wood Secretary of the committee -Pierz motioned -All parties voted and Wood was elected co secretary of the committee with Irene Belanger -Wood shall manage committee outreach and public input -Hayden brought up using share point to keep in contact during the week and to comment on documents -Pierz asked for Joann Austin to give a brief synopsis on the architectural standards -Austin gave a brief description thereafter -Pierz let the committee know that there has to be a public hearing in order for the standards to end up on the ballot in June -Hayden asked Pierz to read the minutes for the previous meeting on April 21, 2011 -Pierz motion that the minutes be accepted Bovio seconded all were in favor -Hayden asked Pierz about Action plan #2 Grindle-works for Kennebec county soil district-Identify undevelopable soils within the districts of china Action plan #2 would have maps that would show these areas specifically and identifiably -Pierz said they were considering a map that has historic sights and scenic vistas -Pierz suggested that there be separate map for the two subjects. 1 for undevelopable and 1 for scenic and historic -Hayden went over what is on the Action plan for those new members who did not have a copy -date to complete was suggested to be May 9 -PDI contract for $10,000 for the land use ordinance -Hayden stated that we are not here to set policy but examine the Comp Plan to adjust it -Hayden asked to look at water and sewer set ups for the possibility to have water districts -Hayden suggest that infrastructure would establish for the future -Hayden went over what PDI is going to do -Hayden suggested we go over comprehensive plan -Pierz volunteered to read the first chapter -Hayden asked Pierz how many homes have been in town this year -Pierz said the average is about 40 homes a year -Hayden how do we keep the village the way it is and not have “sprawl” -Hayden suggested that Irene get the covenants for the historic district in China Village -Hayden suggest that we look at chapter five during the week and come up with ideas for use of land in the route 3 corridor -Hayden suggest also looking ahead in the chapters to get ideas -Where are we going to allow development, what types of districts that we will suggest Defining village style format -Hayden called for adjournment seconded by Pierz approved by all at 8:30pm
