You are invited to attend the Society of Editors next professional development workshop on Saturday 2 August, from 9 am to 5 pm, at our usual venue, RFH on Gregory, Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill.

Like most editors, you use MS Word constantly in your work, but you may not realise how the program can be expanded to make your editing process more efficient and effective.
You may also be unsure of how best to transfer your proofreading skills to the screen, for marking up PDFs rather than hard copy.
This workshop will give you a chance to use four of the most useful Word add-ins …
PerfectIt Editor’s Toolkit Reference Checker PhraseExpress
Presenter Hilary Cadman will discuss what each add-in can do and how best to incorporate it into the editing process. You will also use Adobe Reader XI to mark up PDFs.
This is a workshop for PC only (unless you are running Windows within your Mac) because the Word add-ins that make up the bulk of the workshop don't have versions for Mac.
BYO laptop. Hilary can bring up to two spare laptops if you haven’t got one, so get in early to reserve yours by contacting Training Officer Josephine Brown. Hiring fee is $50.
Two weeks before the workshop, Hilary will send instructions and files for you, with details of what programs you need to load onto your laptop, and documents you will need for the course.
