SIGNIFICANT EVENTS

11/02 3400 block of Bayshore Possession of Controlled Substance An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. A records check revealed that the driver had a suspended license and was on probation with search and seizure. She was also in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested and booked at the main jail. Case closed. Report #07-1102-001.

11/02 100 block of Valley Burglary/Commercial The reporting party advised that between 11/01/07 and 11/02/07 an unknown subject entered her office cubicle and took a laptop. The value of the loss is $1,983.00. This investigation is on-going. Report #07-1102-002.

11/02 Unit block of Solano Juvenile Possess Marijuana/Alcohol While assisting school personnel with a student, an officer discovered the student was in possession of alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes. The student was arrested and booked at the Hillcrest Juvenile Facility. Case closed. Report #07-1102-003.

11/03 3200 block of Bayshore Driving Under the Influence An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver had been driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to First Chance. Case closed. Report #07-1103-001.

11/04 400 block of Tunnel Possession of Narcotics for Sale An officer conducted a welfare check of a person passed out in his vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the subject was in possession of a controlled substance for sale and paraphernalia. The subject was arrested and booked at the main jail. Case closed. Report #07-1104-001.

11/04 300 block of Swallowtail Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised that between 11/03/07 and 11/04/07 an unknown subject entered her vehicle and two others via unknown means. The property taken included sunglasses, tools, books, a stereo and speakers. The total loss is $490.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. 11/04 Bayshore/Geneva Warrant Arrest An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. A records check of the driver revealed that she had a $10,000.00 warrant from Daly City PD for theft and a $30,000.00 warrant from San Francisco PD for driving under the influence. She was arrested and booked at the main jail. Case closed. Report #07-1104-004. 11/06 400 block of Kings Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised that between 11/05/07 and 11/06/07 an unknown subject had smashed the window of his vehicle and took sunglasses and clothing. The value of the loss is $400.00. This case has been suspended pending leads or suspect information. Report #07-1106-001.

11/08 5000 block of Sierra Point Pkwy Public Intoxication Arrest Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject refusing to leave the premises. The subject was so intoxicated that she was unable to care for her own safety. She was arrested and booked at the main jail. Case closed. Report #07- 1108-001.

11/09 North Hill / Monarch Driving Under the Influence Officers responded to a report of a collision and located the driver standing next to his vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver had been driving while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to First Chance. Case closed. Report #07-1109-001.

11/09 Beatty/Alana Stolen Vehicle Recovery While investigating a suspicious vehicle, an officer discovered it had been stolen in San Francisco and used in an armed robbery on 11/08/07. There were no suspects located in the area. The vehicle was towed and removed from the Stolen Vehicle System. Case closed. Report #07-1109-003.

11/10 Brisbane Marina Theft The reporting party advised that between 08/06/07 and 11/09/07 an unknown subject took two speakers, two furling lines and two fenders from his boat. The value of the loss is $605.00. This investigation has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1110-001.

11/12 3800 block of Bayshore Warrant Arrest An officer contacted a suspicious person in the area. A records check revealed that he had a $5,000.00 warrant from Gilroy PD for probation violation and resisting arrest. The subject was cited, given a court date and released at the scene. Case closed. Report #07-1112-002.

11/13 Unit block of Visitacion Vandalism The reporting party advised that on 11/13/07 at 0830 hours, an acquaintance, angry over alleged comments that the reporting party had made, broke a window of the reporting party’s residence. The suspect admitted to breaking the window. This case has been sent to the San Mateo District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Case closed. Report #07-1113-001. 11/13 Bayshore / Valley Stolen Vehicle Recovery Officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire. They were not able to locate a driver or registered owner at the scene. The vehicle was subsequently towed and entered into SVS. On 11/15/07 the registered owner reported to San Francisco PD that the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was removed from SVS. Case closed. Report #07-1113-006.

11/14 Bayshore / Valley Hit and Run Collision An officer located a traffic light at the southeast corner of the intersection that had been struck and knocked off its base. Subsequent investigation revealed the light had been damaged by a vehicle. The area was checked but officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1114-001.

11/15 Bayshore/Valley Threats/Brandishing a Knife The reporting party advised that a rider on his bus had brandished a knife and made threatening and racially derogatory statements towards him. After the victim positively identified the suspect out of a photo line up, officers located the suspect at his home in Brisbane and took him into custody. The suspect was then booked into jail. Case closed. Report #07-1115-001.

11/16 Unit block of Park Warrant Arrest While conducting follow up with the victim of another crime, officers ran a records check on him. The subject had a $10,000.00 warrant from Alameda County for possession of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and booked at the jail. Case closed. Report #07-1116-001.

11/17 Unit block of Visitacion Vandalism The reporting party advised that between 11/10/07 and 11/14/07 an unknown subject had used a black marker to write graffiti on a no parking sign. The value of the loss is $5.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1117-002.

11/18 600 block of Sierra Point Rd Hit and Run Collision The reporting party advised that on 11/18/07 at 0538 hours an unknown vehicle struck his parked pick up. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene without leaving his information or contacting the owner. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1118-002.

11/18 Visitacion/Klamath Recovered Stolen Vehicle Officers responded to the area on a report of a damaged vehicle blocking the roadway. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen in San Francisco on 11/18/07. The vehicle was towed and entered into SVS as a recovered vehicle. Case closed. Report #07-1118-003. 11/19 Bayshore/Main Possession of Marijuana for Sales An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of marijuana for sales, possession of over 28.5 grams of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a switchblade knife. The subject was arrested and booked at the jail. Case closed. Report #07-1119-001.

11/19 Bayshore/Valley Warrant Arrest An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. A records check of the passenger revealed she had a $7,500.00 warrant from the San Mateo County SO for driving under the influence and possession of stolen property. She was arrested and booked at the jail. Case closed. Report 07-1119-002.

11/20 Unit block of Lupine Valley Stolen Vehicle The reporting party advised that between 11/19/07 and 11/20/07 an unknown subject took her silver Honda CRV. The vehicle was entered into SVS. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07- 1120-001.

11/20 300 block of Kings Warrant Arrest Officers served an arrest warrant on a subject at his residence. The warrant was for $125,000.00 from San Francisco PD for aggravated assault. The subject was booked at the jail. Case closed. Report 07-1120-002.

11/21 Marina/South Lot Warrant Arrest An officer contacted the occupants of a suspicious vehicle. A records check of one of the occupants revealed that he had a $560.00 warrant from San Francisco PD for a municipal code violation. The subject was cited, given a court date and released at the scene. Case closed. Report #07-1121-001.

11/21 Marina/South Lot Warrant Arrest An officer contacted the occupants of a suspicious vehicle. A records check of one of the occupants revealed that he had a $1,189.00 warrant from San Francisco PD for failure to appear. The subject was cited, given a court date and released at the scene. Case closed. Report #07-1121-002.

11/21 Marina/South Lot Possession of Marijuana in Vehicle An officer contacted the occupants of a suspicious vehicle. Subsequent investigation of the driver revealed that she was in possession of marijuana. She was cited and released at the scene. Case closed. Report 07-1121-003.

11/21 5000 block of Sierra Point Pkwy Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised that between 11/20/07 and 11/21/07 an unknown subject smashed the front passenger window of his vehicle and took a GPS unit and iPod. The total value of the loss is not yet known. This investigation is on- going. Report #07-1121-004. 11/21 5000 block of Sierra Point Burglary/Vehicle While investigating a vehicle burglary, an officer located another vehicle that had been burglarized. An unknown subject smashed the front passenger window and took a GPS unit and wallet. The value of the loss is $569.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. 11/21 Unit block of Thomas Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised that between 11/20/07 and 11/21/07 an unknown subject smashed the front passenger window of her vehicle and took her purse. The value of the loss is $60.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1121-006.

11/22 200 block of Crescent Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised that between11/21/07 and 11/22/07, an unknown subject smashed the front passenger and rear hatchback window of his vehicle and took a 3” portable color television. The value of the loss is $400.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1122- 001.

11/24 300 block of Kings Burglary/Vehicle The reporting party advised between 11/21/07 and 11/22/07, an unknown subject smashed the front passenger window of his vehicle and took his 10” LCD back-up monitor. The value of the loss is $500.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1124-001.

11/24 400 block of Sierra Point Rd Vandalism The reporting party advised that on 11/24/07 at 2259 hours, unknown subjects ignited a box of fireworks on his vehicle, leaving burn marks and debris. The value of the loss is unknown. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1124-002.

11/25 200 block of Klamath Assault/Battery The reporting party advised that on 11/25/07 at 0318 hours an acquaintance of his punched him in the face twice. This case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review. Report #07-1125-001.

11/26 400 block of Marina Vandalism The reporting party advised that between 11/22/07 and 11/23/07 an unknown subject cut the copper electrical wires that power 26 power poles. The value of the loss is $20,000.00. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1126-001. 11/27 Bayshore / Guadalupe False Vehicle Tabs An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver admitted to having placed false tabs on his license plates. The driver was given a misdemeanor citation and released at the scene. Case closed. Report #07-1127-001.

11/27 200 block of Crescent Fraudulent use of Access Cards The reporting party advised that between August of 2007 and November 2007 an unknown subject fraudulently used his personal information to open credit accounts. This investigation is on-going. Report #07-1127-002.

11/28 Unit block of Industrial (Paragon Property) Suspicious Circumstance An officer attempted to make contact with a suspicious vehicle in the area. The driver initially fled in his vehicle and then abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. A search of the driver’s vehicle resulted in locating copper wire and possible burglary tools. The vehicle was towed. Officers were unable to locate the registered owner. Case closed. Report #07-1128-003.

11/30 100 block of North Hill Possession of Marijuana An officer investigated a suspicious vehicle occupied by two male subjects. As the officer contacted the driver, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver was in possession of 8.8 grams of marijuana. The driver was cited and released at the scene. Case closed. Report #07-1130-001.

11/30 San Benito / Sierra Point Rd Hit and Run Collision An officer located a vehicle with collision damage. He contacted the owner and discovered that the vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle between 11/22/07 and 11/29/07. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene without leaving his information or contacting the owner. This case has been suspended pending further leads or suspect information. Report #07-1130-003.

11/30 Bayshore / Guadalupe Possession of Marijuana An officer stopped a driver for a vehicle code violation. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of 28.7 grams of marijuana. He was arrested and booked at the jail. Case closed. Report #07-1130-005.

11/30 1000 block of Marina Vandalism The reporting party advised that between 11/18/07 to 11/30/07, an unknown subject spray painted five k-rails located on an undeveloped portion of land. The value of the loss is unknown. This case has been closed due to insufficient leads to identify a suspect. Report #07-1130-006. CODE ENFORCEMENT

11/02 Unit block of Alvarado Abandoned Vehicle An officer towed a white 1990 Ford van for being parked in excess of 72 hours. The vehicle was entered into SVS. Report #07-1102-004.

11/28 Unit block of Thomas Expired Registration An officer towed a green 1992 Acura Integra for having expired registration in excess of six months. The vehicle was entered into SVS. Report #07-1128-001.

INVESTIGATIVE UPDATE

MAY 2007 05/01 100 block of South Hill Computer Crimes The reporting party advised that an ex-employee has been hacking into her company’s computers, accessing information and interfering with company business. The detective continues to investigate this case. Report #07-0501-001.

JUNE 2007 06/03 100 block of Golden Eagle Fraud The reporting party advised that between 05/26/07 and 05/27/07 an unknown subject used her personal information to open credit accounts and then use those cards to make purchases. The value of the loss is $848.96. The detective continues to investigate this case. Report #07-0603-002.

AUGUST 2007 08/16 San Bruno/Alvarado Theft/Fraud The reporting party advised that between 08/15/07 and 08/16/07 an unknown subject entered her unlocked vehicle and took a video player and her purse containing credit cards, checks and cash. The value of the loss is $510.00. The credit cards were later used to make numerous unauthorized purchases. The amount of the fraudulent purchases is unknown at this time. The detective continues to investigate this case. Report #07-0816-001

SEPTEMBER 2007 09/07 900 block of Humboldt Vandalism The reporting party advised that on 09/07/07 between 0700 hours and 1800 hours a cement truck drove over part of her garden. There is suspect information. The value of the loss is approximately $200.00. The driver was contacted and will be making full restitution for the damages. The reporting party requested no further action be taken. Case closed. Report #07-0907-002. OCTOBER 2007 10/24 4000 block of Bayshore Fraud/Forgery/Theft The reporting party advised that a subject had used a fraudulent power of attorney to obtain a loan, using her property as collateral. The suspect then defaulted on the loan and the mortgage company is attempting foreclosure on her property. This investigation was forwarded to the detective for further investigation. Report #07- 1024-001.

COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING AND PROBLEM SOLVING

Activities:

On 11/01/07 the entire department participated in the PACT academy.

On 11/07/07 Sergeant Meisner, Officer Borg and CSO Roller attended the Senior Luncheon.

On 11/08/07 Detective Guaydacan attended the North County Investigators meeting.

On 11/15/07 and 11/16/07 Commander Macias and Officers Borg and Leong attended a Women in Law Enforcement Conference.

On 11/15/07 Commander Macey, Sergeant Lynn, CSO Roller and Records Manager Maldonado attended the Records Appreciation Luncheon.

On 11/16/07 Sergeant Lynn participated in Police Academy Mid-term Inspection.

C.O.P.P.S. UPDATE

POP #07-10 On 11/06/07 P.O.P. Project #07-10 was opened regarding vehicles transporting card board boxes possibly littering their load on their way to San Francisco Scavenger Recycling. This POP is designed to concentrate on all the major roadway arteries to the area of Tunnel and Beatty. Vehicles with card board boxes traveling through town are being inspected for proper securing of their load. There were 6.5 hours of enforcement time this month with no violations seen.

POP #07-11 On 11/28/07 P.O.P Project #07-11 was opened regarding possible drug activity occurring in the parking lot of Midtown Market between the hours of 1400 and 1900. Several known subjects that have been associated in the past with H&S activity have been seen congregating in the parking lot of the market. This POP will confirm if there is drug activity and enforcement will be implemented as necessary. A total of 4.25 hours of directed patrol and surveillance has been dedicated to this POP for the month of November, with no violations seen. TRAINING

On 11/15/07 Sergeant Jackson attended K9 training.

From 11/26/07 through 11/28/07 Officer Bennett attended Standardized FST training.

On 11/28/07 Detective Guaydacan attended an E.T.S. update training class.

On 11/30/07 Officers Nelson and Javellana attended SWAT training.
