Dear (insert Manager’s name):

The 2017 ASPR Annual Conference will be held in San Diego, CA from April 29 – May 3. The conference is attended by hundreds of in-house physician recruitment professionals from across the country. As we strive to meet the challenges and opportunities of the evolving healthcare environment, our informational needs are greater than ever before. I would appreciate the opportunity to attend this conference to receive the newest information from experts in the field of in-house physician recruitment and retention.

By attending the ASPR Annual Conference, I will have the opportunity to attend three keynote presentations and four of 14 breakout sessions offered, join roundtable discussions, and network with hundreds of colleagues. I’ve attached the registration brochure for your review and would like to provide you with some highlights of the excellent education that I will receive by attending:

Keynotes:

Monday Healthcare, Remixed Dr. Damania delves into the ethical challenges of delivering compassionate healthcare in our severely dysfunctional medical system, while proposing collaborative ways to revitalize it. He examines, through humor and storytelling, the hope that the future of medicine is a bright one provided that we all work together for the common goal.

How Doctors Think: Diagnostic Challenges in the New Era of Health IT Clinicians are spending more time with technology. In this talk, Dr. Dhaliwal will discuss how doctors and other frontline healthcare providers are helped and hindered by healthcare information technology. Through stories, videos, and data he will illustrate how technology has been part of the problem and how it will be part of the solution in the modern healthcare environment.

Wednesday Driving Negativity out of the Workplace Continuous workplace negativity saps the energy out of an organization and distracts everyone from work and productivity. This is the message that Liz Jazwiec, RN will discuss by telling her personal story. Using real-life examples and anecdotes from her bestselling book, Eat THAT Cookie!, she will provide insights to make positive thinking work for you and the shadow you cast on others. She concludes with a straightforward approach to the connection between job satisfaction and success, creating an enjoyable workplace and choosing to be happy.

Breakouts: Fourteen breakout topics are offered at this year’s conference. Topics include trends in healthcare, marketing/ sourcing, onboarding/retention, rural recruiting, and much more! (SUGGESTION: edit this section with details on the breakouts that you plan to personally attend.) Fellowship Certification: The ASPR Fellowship Certification Program will also be offered at the Annual Conference. This program is the most comprehensive authoritative resource for those seeking to develop and test their skills and knowledge in the physician recruiting profession. The program includes a series of three modules, each with an associated exam. Once all three exams are passed, one becomes certified as a Fellow of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (FASPR). I would like to become one of the 10% nationwide who has achieved this highly respected certification. (SUGGESTION: edit this section based on your current status, for example if you’re an Associate, edit this to indicate you’d like to take the next steps and attend the 201 and/or 301 modules at this year’s conference.)

Please consider allowing me to attend this year’s ASPR Annual conference. I believe it to be one of the best educational conferences in the recruitment industry. You can expect a report upon my return on all of the valuable knowledge I have gained. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
