Pacetti Bay Middle School Academic Policy

Pacetti Bay Middle School’s goal is to provide an excellent learning opportunity for all students. Striving to reach this goal must be a united effort on the part of the students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community. We believe learning can take place best when there is a shared effort, interest, and motivation.

A classroom teacher at Pacetti Bay Middle School is responsible for: q Explaining expectations, instructional goals, and the grading system to both students and parents q Teaching the Florida Standards q Providing a climate in the classroom that is conducive to learning q Communicating with parents through online grades, interim reports, report cards, conferences, and phone calls q Utilizing various teaching methods to meet diverse needs of all students q Providing enrichment and remediation opportunities for students as needed q Respecting the cultural differences of all students

A student at Pacetti Bay Middle School is responsible for: q Respecting self and the rights of others q Attending school regularly and on time q Using appropriate language at school q Following Pacetti Bay Middle School rules and procedures and the SJCSD Student Conduct Code q Coming to school dressed appropriately, and prepared to work by having the necessary materials q Asking the teacher questions when understanding has not taken place q Completing all assignments on time

A parent of a student at Pacetti Bay Middle School is responsible for: q Reading and discussing planner information with his/her child q Providing ample, quiet study time at home and encouraging good study habits q Making sure his/her child is well rested and arrives to school on time q Supporting the school staff in their efforts to promote appropriate behavior q Encouraging his/her child to read daily q Communicating regularly with his/her child’s teacher q Monitoring his/her child’s homework q Discussing grades, interim reports, and report cards with his/her child q Attending parent/teacher conferences when requested

The principal at Pacetti Bay Middle School is committed to providing a safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning. As the instructional leader of the school, he will support the teachers in their efforts to teach all students, and he will ensure that opportunities for a rich and robust education are made available.
