Computer and Information Science, NTNU, Trondheim Degrees: Dr. ing. in Computer Science, NTH (NTNU predecessor), 1976. M.Sc. in Engineering Physics (Applied Mathematics), NTH, 1970. Experience with emphasis on work related to innovation and business sector: I have worked in over 15 national and 10 international cooperative innovation projects with European and Norwegian ICT industry since 1973, with own projects since 1984. I have supervised over 200 master students on topics relevant to and jointly defined by over 50 Norwegian industry partners. I have also been the main supervisor for 24 PhD graduates where 80% now have industrial jobs. Since 1985 I have been leader of the software engineering group at NTNU, now with 8 teachers, 5 researchers and 15 PhD stu- dents and with an empirical profile since 1995. Close coop. with SINTEF ICT and Univ. Oslo. Present research activities and fields of interests: Empirical Software Engineering, Software Process Improvement, Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE), Open Source Software (OSS), Software Knowledge Management, Technology Transfer. Membership in academic and professional committees: Chair Norwegian Informatics Council (1990-93, 95-96). Member International Software Engineering Research Network (ISERN), Member IFIP WG2.4 on Programming Technology. Member Nordic OSS network, sits in 3-4 PCs every year, and regular referee for scientific journals: IST, JSS, IEEE Software, TSE.
