Graphing Calculators: Students will be using a class set of TI graphing calculators. We highly recommend purchasing a TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Silver Edition, or TI-84 for your child to use at home and in future classes. This is a very worthwhile investment. Students may also use the graphing calculators during tutorial time if they do not have access to one at home.

Class Rules: Come to class prepared Raise your hand to speak On task behavior is required Show up to class on time Be respectful You are responsible for your own success Parent Contact: In addition to Parent Connect, which allows parents to view their child’s grades, we will keep in touch with parents by email. Each Friday, parents with an email address on file with the team will receive a projected assignment list for the following week. Please be aware that the assignments are subject to change due to student needs, school activities, etc. We must be flexible and respond to the daily activities of our students. Please email us with a frequently monitored email address so we can add you to our group. This is very important as it is the best way for us to keep in contact regarding your child’s progress. In the event that you are not available by email, please make sure that a phone number is on file so that we can keep you informed of your child’s progress.

Remind 101: Please see the attached handout about Remind 101. It is a great way to receive automatic updates/reminders about homework, assignments, quizzes, tests, etc.

Extra Help: There is an awesome app called MATH by YourTeacher.com that can be found on your smart phone. You can also access it with a computer by going to yourteacher.com and creating a free account.

Cell Phone Policy: Electronic devices may be used during class time at teacher discretion. Any student who uses an electronic device without permission will have it confiscated according to the campus policy.

We are looking forward to an exciting year with your child. We have a lot of new and innovative approaches for our 9th grade students this year. We are working very diligently to ensure that every student receives all that they need to be successful.
