Education: Masters in Public Administration & Masters in Counseling from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Community Service: Chair of the Commission of Hispanic Affairs, Co-chair of the Legislators Educational Opportunity Gap statewide committee, member of Washington’s Achievement Accountability Education Workgroup and Discipline Task Force, EVCC President’s Advisory Council Member.

Statement: In her first term, Lillian fought to reduce class sizes and implement policies that help our children compete and succeed. Lillian supports investing in roads, transit, ferries and projects that create family wage jobs. She froze tuition hikes for hardworking families and invested in workforce training to meet a changing economy. A mother of three and longtime resident of Mukilteo, Lillian is working to ensure that the voices of children and families are heard in Olympia. She helped pass a budget protecting the most vulnerable: seniors, vets, children, and struggling families. Lillian Ortiz-Self is working hard for us!

Jeff Scherrer (Prefers Republican Party)

Other Professional Experience: Worked at Microsoft and Washington Mutual in software development; Founded a successful company selling small computers; Successful entrepreneur, real estate investor and natural leader.

Education: Graduated from Lincoln High School of Seattle; Associate of Arts Degree, North Seattle Community College and studied at the University of Washington, School of Business. Community Service: Past President, Lincoln High School, All Year Alumni Association; Jeff is a native of Washington, grew up near Greenlake in Seattle and has lived in the Puget Sound area for over fifty years; Jeff lives in Edmonds and has hosted over 100 International Students who have attended Edmonds Community College.

Statement: A vibrant, thriving economy that adds jobs can lead to better outcomes for our most vulnerable. Ignoring voter approved mandates to limit tax increases is irresponsible government. Our legislature has failed to adequately fund our education system handicapping our most important asset – the future of our children and grandchildren.

I will work with all size businesses, especially small and medium size, to find growth and new opportunities, to make government more responsible to the people and to give our children a better education ensuring better and brighter futures for everyone. Let’s bring the 21st District into the 21st Century!
