Newbuild Homebuy aims to help people who cannot initially afford to buy a suitable home outright, the chance to get onto the housing ladder

The scheme allows buyers to purchase a share of the property; initially this can be as small as 30% or as large as 90% of the property, which would be funded in the usual way by a mortgage. The remaining portion can then be rented from Cheviot Homes.

The beauty of the Newbuild Homebuy scheme is that later on, the buyer can increase their share of the property and therefore decrease the amount of rent that they pay or even buy their home outright.

Buyers must meet the required criteria to take advantage of this scheme. It is open to applicants who are deemed to be in housing need and who are unable to afford outright purchase.
