DESCRIPTION Under supervision of the Public Relations & Information Director (Marketing Director), assists in the routine duties of marketing Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

ESSENTIAL JOB 1. Provides marketing and communications support to the Director which will RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but is not limited to: developing strategic marketing initiatives; collecting, reviewing and reporting data; measuring effectiveness of strategic initiatives; preparing planning and presentation documents; ability to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan; and the capability to listen and apply logic identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and solutions. 2. The ability to write and communicate effectively and clearly is essential. 3. Provides support editing and writing other communications documents, as needed. 4. Assists in directing projects and campaigns for community and public awareness programs and outlines marketing and advertising strategies. 5. Helps in the planning and coordination of special events. 6. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field and reading professional literature in the related technical field. 7. Displays a high level of effort and commitment performing tasks and assignments; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. MINIMUM A diploma or associate degree from an accredited private or public post-secondary QUALIFICATIONS: institution *or* Two (2) years of marketing experience with a substantial amount of time spent in planning meetings, conferences and/or major training events.

PREFERRED Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of professional experience in QUALIFICATIONS: marketing, communications, public relations, external relations or related area. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical materials, and/or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instructional materials; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, managers, and the general public; ability to perform basic numeric calculations; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of both concrete and abstract ideas.

Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License; maintain automobile insurance coverage; and have access to an automobile due to possible travel to other campuses.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate instructional equipment and computers. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee will be required to drive to various instructional internship facilities.

This is a part time position working up to 19.5 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted.
