The following are activities for the Parks and Recreation Department for April 16-May 13, 2012.

Aquatics  Swim Lessons Monday thru Thursday Classes: 4:00pm – 4:45pm, 4:45pm – 5:30pm Session Dates: April 16-26, April 30-May 10 $30 Residents / $45 Non-Residents

Saturday Classes: 11am-12pm, 12pm-1pm Session Date: May 19-June 23 $30 Residents / $45 Non-Residents

 Water Fitness Class Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 9:45am - 10:45am Resident: $5 per class or $30 per month Non-Resident: $45 per month

 Pool Schedule April 16-May 4 Mon-Fri: 1:00pm-5:30pm Sat & Sun: 11:00am-5:30pm (pool will be closed from 10am-1pm M-F for Swim Central Classes)

May 4-August 31 11:00am-7:30pm

Senior Activities Cultural Community Center: 410 SE 3rd Street (Partnership with Memorial Senior Partners)  Mondays MahJong / Board Games / Card Games 12:00pm-4:00pm  Tuesdays Mahjong / Board Games / Card Games 12:00pm-4:00pm  Wednesdays Bridge 12:00pm-4:00pm  Thursdays Bingo 1:00pm-4:00pm

Ingalls Park: 735 SW 1st Street (Partnership with Aventura Hospital H2U Program)  Mondays Senior Aerobics 10:00am-11:00am  Tuesdays Line Dancing 10:30am-11:30am  Wednesdays Senior Aerobics 10:00am-11:00am  Thursdays Line Dancing 10:30am-11:30am

Historic  Curci House Tours May 5th and 6th 11am – 4pm Tour this beautifully renovated home while you hear and see some of Hallandale Beach’s history from members of the City’s Historic Board.

OB Johnson Park  Afterschool Drop In Program Drop in afterschool program for youth ages 6-12. Activities include games, arts and crafts, and homework help.

 Youth Girls Club – NEW PROGRAM Mondays 5:00pm-6:00pm Activities include sewing classes, pampering times (facials and nails), and rap sessions. Ages: 6-12

 Youth Boys Club – NEW PROGRAM Wednesdays 5:00pm-6:00pm Activities include hobby times, fishing trips, canoeing trips. Ages: 6-12

 Toddler Time – NEW PROGRAM Tuesdays 10:00am-11:00am Activities include circle games, physical fitness, arts & crafts, and movies. Children must be accompanied by parent.  Walking Club – NEW PROGRAM Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:00am-9:00am

 Video Game Night April 20th 7:00pm-9:00pm Everyone is welcome to come out and try your skill playing the latest video games.

 Kidz Night Out April 27th 6:00pm-9:00pm Galaxy Skating Rink $10.00 per child; Ages: 6-12

 May Day Festival – partnership event with PCAC May 5th 10:00am-3:00pm Come out to OB Johnson Park for a fun filled day to celebrate the month of May. Music, Baking Contest, Basketball Tournament, Vendors, Food, and Fun. All ages welcome. Please contact Ms. Clara Brown at 954-678-8921 for more information.

 Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast May 12th 10:00am-12:00pm Come out to the gym and help celebrate mothers with a delicious breakfast dedicated to all the moms.

Teen Center  Movie Night Mondays 7:00pm-9:00pm Come out and enjoy a movie with your friends.

 Video Game Night Tuesdays 6:00pm-8:30pm Come out and challenge your friends to latest in video gaming.

 Tournament Night Wednesdays 6:00pm-8:30pm Various tournaments throughout the month: 3 on 3 basketball, video, card, and table games

 Game Night Thursdays 6:00pm-8:30pm Come out and join your peers in a table, card, or video game.

 Field Trip Friday April 20th – Boomers April 27th – South City Beach May 4th - TBA May 11 - TBA Special Events  Greenfest – Celebrating Earth & Arbor Day May 5, 2012 10:00am-2:00pm City Hall Complex Come out and learn about our environment and going “green”. Plenty of educational activities and information for all ages.

 Garbage to Art Contest The City of Hallandale Beach Parks & Recreation Department invites you to challenge your imagination. Make artwork with garbage or recycling items you have at home. Prizes given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the following categories: . Middle School Students . High School Students . Adults 18 and older Deadline for submission is May 4th. Winners will be announced at the Greenfest on May 5th.

 Relay for Life Friday May 18th 6:00pm-Saturday May 19th 10:00am Peter Bluesten Park, 501 SE 1st Avenue The City of Hallandale Beach’s Peter Bluesten Park will be the host site for the American Cancer Society’s annual event to fight back against cancer.

 City of Hallandale Beach 85th Birthday Celebration May 19, 2012 10:00am-2:00pm Peter Bluesten Park, 501 SE 1st Avenue Hallandale Beach is turning 85 and you are invited to the Birthday Party. Bounce Houses, Food, DJ, Free Pool Admission.

Summer Camps City of Hallandale Beach Parks and Recreation Department will be offering Summer Camp to youth ages 6-18 from June 11 to August 17. Camp sites are as follows:

 Peter Bluesten Park – campers ages 6-12  OB Johnson Park – campers ages 6-12  Ingalls Park – campers ages 13-18

Registrations take place at the Cultural Community Center, 410 SE 3rd Street. Summer Camp is open for registration starting April 16th for residents and May 7th for non-residents. Scholarships are available for Hallandale Beach Residents. For more information please call 954-457-1342.

Youth Athletics – (partnership provided through the Police Athletic League of Hallandale Beach)  Bowling Registration: March 26-April 20 Season: April 30-June 25 Location: Holiday Bowling Center Fees: Resident: $50 / Non-Resident: $75 Ages: 6-12 Please contact PAL at 954-457-1466 for more information

 Flag Football Registration: March 23-May 18 Season: June 4-July 20 Location: Hallandale Adult Center Fees: Resident: $50 / Non-Resident: $75 Ages: 7-15 Please contact PAL at 954-457-1466 for more information
