Project 2: Corporate Identity Documents
Purpose: To create a unified, integrated series of corporate communication forms, such as business cards, letterheads, fax cover sheets, envelopes, etc.
1.) Open Quark to a new document and set the size for the document to match the type of identity form you wish to make (you will do two altogether). Business card: 3 1/2” by 2” Envelope: 9 7/16” by 4 1/16” Letterhead: 1 1/2” to 2” at the top of an 8 1/2” by 11” sheet. Fax cover sheet: 8 1/2” by 11” standard paper, corporate logo usually at top similar to letterhead. Should include pre-printed headings for “FAX Cover Sheet”, “To:”, “Fax Number:”,”From:”, “Re:”, “Date:”’ and “Message:” (see the box at right).
2.) Using the shape and text tools, create a simple logo for a fictitious company or create a picture box and import a file, resizing the contents to match the required size of the box, for your logo. You may also want to create custom colors, such as the gold and navy on this page.
3.) Add text (your name, title, address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, etc.) to complete the form. Add rules (you can create rules with blends in them by making them out of very thin boxes) to make it more attractive and to complete the design.
4.) Use the same logo and same text style for the second document. Carry elements of the first design into this second document.
