Proposal for Seed Funding

Please complete all sections below, save the document to your computer, and email the document to Michelle Frisco ([email protected]). Proposals should not exceed 3 pages (excluding budget and investigator information requested in Part 6 and 7).

2. Purpose: Describe the specific aims of the proposal.

3. Brief Background and Description of Activities: Provide a brief background or rationale for the proposal, and a description of the specific activities.

4. Prospects for Extramural Funding: Detail how the proposed activities will contribute to the development of a research proposal to outside sponsors. Be sure to identify prospective funders and how the proposed research topic fits with their priorities. Also include an expected date for submission.

5. Timeline: Describe the anticipated timeline to accomplish the goals of the proposal. Also, please indicate the timeline for the development and submission of grant proposals for external funding.

6. Budget: Provide a detailed explanation of how the requested funds will be spent. Investigators are encouraged to meet with Sherry Yocum ([email protected]) if funds are requested for Core services (programming, GIA) to obtain estimates on the cost of services. 7. Identifying Information: Identify the lead investigator, collaborating investigators, and the departments or units they represent. Contact information must be included for all investigators.
