The Council will make these changes by amending The District of South Hams (Off Street Parking Places) Order 1999, using their statutory powers, including those under Sections 35(1)(3) and (3(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, paragraph 27 of the Ninth Schedule to that Act, and Section 25 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996.

Full details of these charges, which are intended to come into effect on 1 January 2011 can be seen in the draft Order, available at Reception at Follaton House on Mondays to Thursdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
