Treasurer’s Report: Kaycee is working on getting the report organized. Mr. Morgan is looking at purchasing Robotics equipment at $1,400.00 as well as athletic uniforms. The coach is looking into the cost of the uniforms. There was discussion about campus improvements as well as the funds being brought in by the Sacramento Kings to help offset the cost of the theft at the school. There is a tentative budget for this year. It was noted that we over allocated last year. Income from last year: $10,000. Kimberly brought up the need for the computer and Quickbooks 2014. There is a $50 Admin. Fee for Quickbooks 2015. It was mentioned that looking at “New Egg” for Quickbooks might be more cost effective.

Committee Reports: Fall Fundraiser will be the Magnolia Joker’s Wild game. There will be many prizes available to the students with “Grab Bags”. Also, the students may win the chance to have lunch with Mr. Morgan or win the chance to throw a water balloon at Mr. Morgan. It was discussed that there should be only two fundraisers for the school year, and that all the energy of the committee and volunteers be spent on only those two fundraisers.

Principal/Teacher Report: Currently, Magnolia’s student base has grown. There are 425 students at Magnolia. The Sacramento Kings are coming tomorrow to do a Spirit Assembly and at that time the Fall Fundraiser will be pitched.

Mr. Morgan informed the board that there was an ATB (Attendance Truancy Behavior) position added, but that the Assistant Principal position was eliminated.

Basketball started yesterday, cross country today. Many parents are pushing for BRHS to join PRSD.

There is a need for chaperones for the “Under the Sea” dance on 9/18/15. There will also be a 6th grade Fun Night that coincides with the dance. The pizza will be shared between all the grades. New Business: 6th Grade Fun Night in need of board games. 7th and 8th grade dance is put on by the yearbook committee. Email Sean with any ideas for the 6th Grade Fun Night. There is a need for 10-14 volunteers as there are 128 6th graders. This will go from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Please email separate sign-up for 6th grade vs. 7th & 8th graders. Some ideas were: face painting, henna tattoos, wacky hair booth. The band has black tablecloths, hurricane lamps, disco balls, etc. It would be nice to try to expand the Father/Daughter dance.

A Spring Fundraiser idea was brought up. It was to have a semi-formal Father/Daughter dance with dinner and photo booth. Cost of $49-50 per person and to have a professional photographer. We could use the gym at BRHS or the Lyon’s Club building. Another idea was to have a Mother/Son game night, perhaps bowling.

There will be a district parents club meeting at 6:30 at the District Offices regarding policy. Rusty Clark to give an overview.

There was mention of the Spring Assembly and topics. One topic of Tech Saturated Generation Cyber Safety was brought up. There will be an informational meeting regarding this on October 24 (Saturday) at Sierra College. They will show parents how to block and set up parental controls.

Meeting Adjourned: 8:07 PM, Kristin Potts motioned, Sam Newell 2nd. All in favor.
