Napa Valley Community Housing JOB DESCRIPTION HOUSING COORDINATOR

Status: Non-Exempt Full-Time Position Supervisor: Resident Services Program Manager Department: Resident Services

This is a full-time position at Napa Valley Community Housing. The Home Sharing Match-Up Housing Coordinator is responsible for interviewing, screening and placing clients in home sharing as well as coordinating outreach activities throughout Napa County.

Responsibilities:  Interview, process and assess the candidacy of clients who have applied to the Home Sharing Match-Up program including checking references of clients when appropriate  Assist clients with pertinent information on application and forms  Track all necessary client information on designated database  Conduct home visits as needed for interviews or mediation when necessary  Maintain and analyze client documentation of home seekers and home providers  Provide shared housing referrals and community resources to clients.  Place clients in home sharing arrangements and complete Living Together Agreements.  Attend meetings, events, and outreach events to promote Home Sharing Match-Up Program  Build business relationships with service providers and collaborate on housing resources for clients  Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for funding purposes  Maintain knowledge of social and economic trends that impact the population served  Teach clients to identify and find solutions to common problems in their household  Assist in grant writing and fund raising

Qualifications:  Bilingual Spanish required, bicultural a plus  Communicate effectively in writing, interviewing and public speaking  Conflict resolution, flexibility and good interpersonal skills  Experience working with diverse workgroups and serve individuals with diverse economic, social, racial and cultural backgrounds  Must be energetic, work independently and enjoy answering questions  Maintain a confidential work environment  Strong ability to plan, organize, prioritize and multi-task  Be professional, respectful of others and display a positive attitude  Ability to seek volunteerism through available resources or referrals  Knowledge of modern office methods and practices, including filing systems, business correspondence, presentations and report writing  Proficient knowledge of Internet and computer programs including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel  The service is physical, distribution of flyers and sometimes home visits, requiring set-up and clean-up for events which may require transporting or lifting cumbersome material, e.g. flip charts, refreshments, brochures, etc.  Ability to travel throughout Napa County, as needed, where applicable  Vehicle required with possession of valid California Driver’s license, a good driving record, and automobile insurance per requirements of the State of California
