ITL Application Form The Introduction to Teaching and Learning (ITL) module is a short course designed to help you develop your knowledge and skills in teaching, learning and giving feedback. Those who successfully complete the Professional Development in Academic Practice: PDAP711 ITL will gain 20 credits at level 7 (Masters) and have met the UK Professional Standards Framework at Descriptor Level 1 (D1).

Entry Requirements: Minimum of 15 hours engagement in teaching, learning and assessment related activity. These 15 hours should account for:  A minimum of five hours between the start and the formative assessment submission date for the module.  The additional hours must have taken place within the last 12 months, and/or within the 6 months following module completion.

ITL Course options: There are two versions of the ITL course:  The standard ITL course comprises of four 9.30am-5pm face-to-face sessions taught at weekly intervals, with additional weekly online activities.  An intensive version of the course consists of four 9.30am-5pm sessions in one week, plus daily online activities. Full attendance is required. Participants are expected to engage in the taught sessions and online activities. These focus on subjects including: teaching delivery; planning and preparing sessions; giving feedback; reflective practice and signposting student support.

The PDAP711 assessment includes: . two reviews of academic practice (RAPs) in which you observe, and are observed by a peer . a UK Professional Standards Framework application at Descriptor Level 1 (D1) The supervisor/line manager must indicate overleaf which teaching and/or assessment responsibilities the applicant will be undertaking and sign the form. Unsigned applications will not be considered.
