Questions and Answers: Pack 1

Question 1: We have noted that this has been issued as an RFI – Request for Information. What will be the next steps for RAF after having received these proposals? Will there be a separate RFP (Request for Proposal) be issued for the actual implementation?

Answer 1: The RAF will review the information received to check what is on the market, after the RAF will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP).

Question 2 What is the RAF strategy for SaaS or Cloud solutions? Will RAF consider a cloud solution? Answer 2:

RAF has its own private cloud hosted at Vodacom Data centre where this software will be hosted. It will however be beneficial to the RAF to also get additional information about this being hosted as a service in an external cloud. Question 3: Should we include a costing for the implementation of the product also? Answer 3: Yes Question 4:

Should services for training be included in the costing of the project? Answer 4: Yes Question 5: Should services for organisational change management be included in the costing of the project? Answer 5: Yes Question 6: Which version of the SAP portal is currently in production at RAF? Answer 6: Version 7 Question 7: Do RAF have a training academy? Answer 7: Yes Question 8 What type of training is presented internally by internal trainers? Answer 8: Mostly Legal Training with case law’s etc Question 9 P8 last bullet: "The LMS should have its own sandpit and enable internal sandpits to be placed on LMS." Could you please explain what is meant by this bullet? What does the sandpit refer to? Answer 9:

Sandpit is basically a playpen where staff can practice before taking any assessments on the live environment. Question 11 Could you please give us an indication of the number of users that should be licensed for the following user types:

Answer 11 it is basically all RAF employees +/ 2000 Question 12 What is the speed of the bandwidth in all of the offices? Answer 12 Main branches 100Mb (Minimum 10Meg for branch offices) and 1Mb for smaller offices.

Question 13 When setting up the integration into SAP – do you have the technical expertise to support it or will you rely on us to do all the integration work? Answer 13 Integration work to be done by supplier. Question 14 What SAP HR modules are you currently using? Answer 14 Payroll, Time and Attendance, Organizational Development , ESS, MSS Question 15 You mention that a register must be signed when submitting the proposals. Will you accept a signature from a courier if we send a courier with the documents?

Answer 15: Yes it will be accepted just make sure that you inform the courier to put in your company name on the register not the courier name. Question 16 In what format is the training material at this stage?

Answer 16 Training documents are either on word, Pdf and some on RWD SAP productivity pack

Question 17 Are there going to be 3rd party training providers supplying training courses? If so, will this be SCORM compliant?

Answer 17 Yes ,We can’t guarantee that as we know some providers are not that clued up on LMS requirements

Question 18 Will you require employees to be able to do offline courses (supplied on a CD) and only do tests online? Or will all courses be done online? And do you have the infrastructure and bandwidth to support this?

Question 20 What is the planned time for the system to be up and running?

Answer 20 As soon as the procurement process is finalized.
