1. Call to order by President Denise Hughes at 6:50pm -Introduction of officers Vice President – Jessica Madden, Trish Grogan – Treasurer and Shawn Benton – Treasurer -Introduction of members – Please see sign in sheet

2. Principal's New Business –  Friday (9/15) - Welcome Back program and BTS BBQ.  Arts in Education programs – Van Gogh travelling museum – 4 week display outside the art room. $2000.00 grant already received. Looking to the PTA for support for the visiting artist.  10/26/12 – Local author – Matt McGillicut(sp?)  Positive Behavior Support Intervention (PBIS) – looking to recognize good behavior. All are invited to be a parent member of the PBIS committee. Four day training commitment as well as one meeting per month.

3. Sue Starr – karate class – Please see hand-out for details. PTA will send out flyer to survey interest. Question surrounding PTA’s sponsorship of this program. What does this mean for future groups? Motion by Claudia Verga that Starr’s Black Belt Academy be welcomed under PTA sponsorship as an afterschool activity. Seconded by Stephanie Krause Motion passed

4. Committee Reports A. Treasurer’s report – Trish Grogan  Balance is relatively low.  $288.27 check from Target.  $100.00 from Hannaford/Shop-n-Save.  Over 1200.00 from Box Tops.  Price Chopper Tools for Schools – Gift bag and $250.00 gift card.  We will work on setting the budget next meeting B. Communications – Sandi Ackert  Please visit the website  AWB 3 for me – volunteer opportunities.

C. Fundraising – Stephanie  Two week Spirit Wear fundraiser has begun  On-line gear store. AW Becker will get 20% from both.  Believe is the same company for the main fundraiser – September 28th – October 12th. AWB gets 50%. Incentives for students, volunteers, teachers and principal.

E. Back to School BBQ – Denise Hughes  2 assemblies in the afternoon.  Volunteers needed.

F. School Store – Denise Hughes  Order placed today  Open in the mornings from 9 – 9:30m M-W  Ned Yo’s will also be available in the school store

G. Scholastic book fair – Beth Pike  Delivered on Tuesday, October 23rd  Runs 10/24 – 10/29  Open on the evening of the 26th.  Focus on technology for $

H. BLT/DLT – Kim McFerren/Mrs. Castegna  Meets monthly

I. 1000 Book Club - Denis Kozlowski/Amy Laplante  No report

J. Hospitality – Jessica Madden  Two thank you notes passed around  One from Mrs Morenz  One from Mrs. Richardson 5. New Business  Motion by Jamie Knight to send flowers to new secretary Kim Mora  Seconded by Jesse ?  Motion passed

A. Open House –  Denise Hughes will cover 2nd night.  Stephanie will cover 1st night.

B. Fall Pictures – Volunteers needed.

C. Kindergarten lunch volunteers – Needed 12 – 12:45 daily

D. Teacher Grants- Drawings to continue for at least this meeting. Classroom Winner – Ms.Brown Teacher Winner – Ms.Mulligan
