BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Nora Elizabeth Kreps lived at Fort Davis in Nome during her high school years. She took several trips and made a photograph album of pictures from her trips. In 1908 she took a trip through the Inside Passage, Prince William Sound, and into the Bering Sea. From 1909-1910 she collected and photographed images of Nome, Fort Davis and vicinity.

SCOPE AND CONTENTS NOTE

The collection includes photographs of Nora Kreps’ high school classmates and school activities. She also took photos around Fort Davis and on her various trips in Alaska. The album was probably assembled ca. 1908-1910. Photographers include: Lomen Brothers, Goetze, Simmer, Dobbs, and Nowell. Places mentioned include: Bering Sea, Cape Prince of Wales, Copper River, Dutch Harbor, Fort Davis, Fort Egbert, Fort Gibbon, Fort Liscum, Fort Seward, Holy Cross Mission, Nome, Point Barrow, Point Hope, Port Clarence, St. Michael’s, Solomon, St. Lawrence Bay (Siberia), Unalaska, Valdez, and Yukon River.
