Correct weight was delayed when Apprentice R Yetimova, rider of the fourth placegetter Stacy Ann, viewed the official film before lodging an objection against the Keep The Cash being declared third placegetter alleging interference near the 400 metres. On the evidence, it was established that approaching the 300 metres Keep The Cash shifted in and tightened the running of Stacy Ann which had to be checked. Stewards were of the opinion that the interference suffered was greater than the beaten margin of a half head therefore the protest was upheld. The placings were amended to 5, 1, 8 and 2. At a subsequent inquiry Bulent Muhcu rider of Keep The Cash was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR 137(a), the particulars being that approaching the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Stacy Ann resulting in that mare being tightened for room and having to be checked. Bulent Muhcu was granted approval to defer the commencement of penalty and had his permit to ride in races suspended for 3 Tasmanian race meetings to commence at midnight 18 December 2013 and to expire at midnight 31 December 2013.
